During that times that I used Switch with either a USB-C to USB-A adapter or official dock, I found out that USB keyboards can used whenever text input is required. That is, whenever the on-screen keyboard shows up, a USB keyboard can be used there as well (there is a setting relating to them as well). However, instead of having to buy an entirely new controller, is it possible that I can use USB keyboards to navigate the system menu and play games with them? I've tried to navigate the system menu with one before, but it just doesn't seem to work. Could this be something the CFW can handle?

Well that sucks. The next thing I would like to know: The only other dedicated controller that I have is a Microsoft SideWinder USB gamepad, but its button layout seems to unsuitable for Switch games. If not this can be used with a Switch at all, which controller(s) should I look for that can be used with both a Switch and PC?

Another pair of Joy-cons or a Switch Pro Controller

8Bitdo SN30 Pro, SN30 Pro+, or SN30 Pro Wired. Preferrably the G version imo as it has a better dpad. All of them are compatible with Switch and PC. The wired one goes for $25 last I checked

That sparked up something in me: Can the official wireless SNES controller for Nintendo Switch Online users be used with a PC? I think it could, since it will most likely connect via Bluetooth.

The NES Online controllers connect to pc with the 8Bitdo USB adapter so the SNES Online controllers will also

I believe the 8bitdo adapter would do that. But I would honestly just get an 8bitdo controller directly instead of buying the official snes controller with an adapter

I do have a USB Bluetooth adapter already (Kensington brand, Cambridge Silicon Radio chipset), so could I use that instead of getting another adapter since the 8Bitdo adapter is essentially another USB Bluetooth adapter? Or does one have something special the other USB Bluetooth adapters don't have?

I would honestly skip the SNES controller. Doesn't have all the system buttons the switch would have, and by default 8bitdo supports PC/Switch/Linux/Android. Plus the 8bitdo has the thumbsticks and shoulder buttons in a better spot for use as a general purpose third party switch pro controller

Edit: Clarification

I'm back with an image of what I already have (a Microsoft SideWinder USB gamepad) (not one taken by me, and not the exact model):
Sidewinder_gamepad.jpg

All that I'm trying to find out is if I can use this one with my Switch, excluding Linux distros that I'm certain to have support for this.

The answer is still NO

Rats! Just like what my mom says, I seem to like sticking to the past a little too much! But at the same time, I sometimes aggressively like to think as if my family is really poor, as in at risk of being homeless, when that isn't going to be the case. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet again and purchase new stuff once more when I need to, selling or donating any old stuff that I don't use anymore.
However, I might be able to save the Microsoft SideWinder Controller just for use with my PCs.

Well, that is something that I can resort to if the situation that I'm in is bad enough. But I'm barely getting started with using my Switch unit, so I'll just have to see how well I can fare with only Joy-cons...

Good, I don't want to have to worry about wearing out Joy-cons too early, especially if I start to get into fighting games and any other kind of games that require fast reactions (but I don't plan on using online services). Or worse, cause my Joy-cons to have the drifting-issue, as getting another set of official Joy-cons isn't that cheap.
