A guy on youtube posted a video in march 2018 saying that 173.255.238.217 should do the trick. Anyone tried it? Or another?

For all those who don't want to update and receive the message from Nintendo to please update to 9.0, simply turn off the console, hold -/+ and press power and you should arrive in the maintenance menu (it would instantly delete the downloaded update data) don't press anything in that menu and use the power button to turn off the console. Should get rid of the annoying message for a while.

I've been lurking on GBATemp for a couple of years but only just decided to make an account because I've started developing homebrew. If you google 90DNS you'll find a link to the GBATemp thread.

it's a bit dated august 2018, many updates ago, I figured things would have changed a bit on that note

I've been using it for over a year now and it's still working for me. Even if it went down you still wouldn't update because the switch wouldn't be able to resolve the update server's host name. Worst case scenario if it goes down as long as you still have the settings set is you can't access any website from the switch until you change the settings. Be careful though because some ISPs override your dns settings (I know SKY does in the UK).

But i have noticed that download speed went from 4.3mb/s to 2.0mb/s, any idea if it could be related?

@CompSciOrBust is 100% correct. 90dns is the way to go!

Edit: I'd be more worried that your switch was online with CFW if I were you. I can smell the ban hammer.

I'm already banned, but homebrew and cfw gave me back all i have lost in privileges

You're using a dns in a different region so you get redirected to a gdrive server in that region and get slower speeds, just use incognito.

Necroing the thread to say your secondary DNS should be 207.246.121.77 and primary should be 163.172.141.219

Nobody uses that secondary DNS so I'm not sure who told you about that or where you found it from. The only differences in using 90DNS is whether the 163 is the primary or secondary.

Then atmosphere's blocking is as good as 90DNS?
In reality, Atmosphere now features multiple ways of blocking Nintendo whether through exosphere or the dns.mitm. Exosphere functions the same way as Incognito while dns.mitm functions like 90DNS. It should also go without saying that both achieve the same effects with about the same amount of risks of failing.

Great. Do you recommend activating both features?
