I've still not update since my last post from 6.20 to 8.10 and i want to do it before 9.0 hits and who knows what that may bring. Also want to get my linked account created.

Couple more questions and answers please -

1: if I upgrade OFW through offical means, and then do the RCM trick before it reboots can I just use a RCM clip instead of AutoRCM (i appreciate that that using AutoRCM carries less user risk) to bypass fuse burning.

2: Am I right I will only need to do RCM if you do full shutdown or battery runs out and you are restarting?

3A: To bypass fuse burning I have to do RCM (or AutoRCM), send payload and then boot through Hekate?

3B: Which option do I use in Hekate to boot into OFW (one with the lowest risk of being banned)

Hello everybody,

so far, I was able to hack my Wii, Wii U, vWii and 3DS with help and tutorials. Now I'd like to hack my Switch and I really hope you can help me.
My Switch Console is one of the first ever. I pre-ordered it back then and even got it a day earlier. I have the newest firmware update 8.1.0 at the moment.

I have some questions:

Is the guide linked to in the original post still up to date? And do I really have to stick something into my Switch? I'm very afraid
to get an electric shock or set my Switch or home ablaze.

I mainly want to hack my Switch to use cheats (offline of course) and extract/modify/inject save files.
What would the best exploit and applications for this, and how and where do I find cheats, and how do I apply them?

Thank you very much for your help!

I have successfully installed Atmosphere Custom firmware with emunand for the first time on my switch using Coffeine. I am about to update my emunand from 4.1.0 to latest 8.1.0 with exfat support using ChoiDujourNX (I want to use a exfat usb to install NSPs). In ChoiDujourNX the option "Prevent fuse burning (enable AutoRCM)" is selected by default. Should I disable it? My Switch is old so it supports RCM, but it don't want to use it since I am using Coffeine instead. Is it safe to disable "Prevent fuse burning" on my Switch when I update?
If you are using ChoiDujourNX to update your firmware on emuMMC, then it does not matter if you enable AutoRCM or not as AutoRCM is useless on emuMMC. But if you want to be safe, do not enable it when updating emuMMC. You can only prevent fuses from being burnt by enabling AutoRCM on sysMMC.

Try ReiNX and Adubbz Tinfoil.

You did not link a guide however I can still answer the other questions. The best exploit for your Switch is Fusee Gelee which involves putting the console into RCM and sending a payload via USB. Cheats are game-specific so you will have to look around although you can check the ROM Hacking Subforum on this site for starters.

If I buy an used Switch with e-shop purchased games, and install cfw on it, would I get insta-ban if I switch to ofw and try to play an original cartridge game online? If so, is there an way to clean your NAND?

You need to seperate your NAND, create an emunand for your CFW stuffs.

Yeah I would switch from emunand to sysnand. I'm asking because I'm afraid that if there's already a linked Nintendo account and games on the console, Ninty would detect me as soon as I went online

As long you never connect emunand online for online gameplay you would be fine, disconnect the wifi setting from sysnand prior to creating your emunand.

You can install large file using game installers such as Tinfoil or Goldleaf, latest Goldleaf allows you to browse your computer for easier install.

fantastic thanks taking the micro sd card in and out every time i want to upload saves or update files felt like a massive waste of time

Thank you! I meant the guide on page 1 in the first post. It says that I have to pinpoint two pins. Is this still necessary? I was asking because
I find it so dangerous.

That guide is one I personally recommend to most people. As for whether or not you have to use the pins, it is necessary for using the Fusee Gelee exploit which is currently the best exploit we have on the Switch and may remain the best exploit ever released on the console.

I can't seem to turn on my switch anymore. It appears unresponsive when I turn it on. When using TegraRcmGUI the screen loads the payload (hekate) for a second then the screen turns black. Sometimes it shows another loading screen for atmosphere for another split second.

I had just booted up hekate for the first time, turned auto rcm on, backed up my nand, and turned it off so I could transfer the backup to my pc. My switch is an unpatched model. Anyonw know how to get my switch working again?
