Hi Everyone,

I decided to install a custom firmware on my low serial switch (Not my first switch to use CFW on),
When I plug the jig and plug the USB-C on my PC,
PC doesnt detect a driver and no sound come out of the PC (Though the switch will be charging if the RCM is not enabled),
I have changned the PC and the Cable, the same issue appeared I even removed the APX driver and installed it again and it didnt work,
However the same set up on my second switch works just fine, is this a common and is there is a fix for it?

Try cleaning the port with isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush. Might just be gunk on the data lines.

Just to be sure, can you try another cable? It however sounds like something with the port itself is damaged. Does it work in a dock for example?
I checked several USBs/PCs and the same, issue started with the "usb device not recognized" so I siwtched the Switch off by pressing 12 second on the power and plugged it to the dock, all was good on the dock but when I plugged the switch back to the PC nothing happen on the RCM mode and on the OFW it charges normally but no driver detected on the PC,
As you said this seems to be the Port.

The same thing happened to one of my Switches two years ago. I'm pretty sure it means the chip controlling USB devices/data got irreparably damaged by overcurrent (a professional Switch repair guy had a look at it and confirmed it back then). It has nothing to do with the USB port. Unfortunately Switch has no protections against this happening. As a result you can still charge the Switch and use the dock (those functions are controlled by two different chips), but you can no longer use any USB devices such as gamepads, and of course you can no longer hack it.
My solution was to buy a new Switch and be extra careful with it (for instance, no third party chargers).

I suppose with the right equipment and a donor chip this could be fixed, but it would be a pretty major undertaking.

did the guy tell you which component causing it? i have a problem with my switch now which can charge but can not tranfer file. i have changed 2 port still the same so the problem definitely not the charging port.
