Seems that you have a short between the cap and ground, somewhere along the line the current is getting shorted.
I would start with the M92T36 since this is involved in managing power. if you can replace it, try, if you dont have a replacement to hand.. maybe make it dance with hot air and flux and see what happens?

if known good is in, and still shorted, then yes, go for PI3USB

Good luck!
I changed the M92T36 already. The Switch used to not even boot. Then I changed it and now it boots. Changed the bq aswell.

wow !!! that is quite something, I saw one like that for sale in eBay (uk) and it was too expensive to go for it so I did not bid on it

try the usual.. check if works in docked mode, get the mobo into a known good assembly and check if the same issue appears, if it does.. then is either the video timing chip or Video chip
check the voltages across to make sure they are "normal"

Interesting to get to know how you progress with that one :)

It boots and everything works but it does not charge.

also check how much voltage comes out of that coil next to the BQ chip... maybe is not stepping the voltage up enough to charge the battery.
does the battery charge indicator comes on in the console? (if it does, it meas M chip is good)

The coil only carries the battery voltage and the switch does not recognise the charger at all. I'd think it has to do with the port but I can connect the switch to the pc and push payloads and such.
As I have never heard of the coil going bad ('' it's never the coil") does that happen a lot with he switch?

ive never seen it either but you seem to have covered must of the "usual" so your case may be unusual..

I have seen one side of the coil disconnecting and hanging once with a switch that must have been dropped.. they are chunky pieces and may lose part of the connection after a drop or water damage.. who knows..

the new BQ chip... is it taken from another switch? is it new or pulled? may be slightly faulty (I have see that with ~Aliexpress chips.. sometimes...)

can you measure the battery voltage.. leave it to charge leave it to charge for 1 or 2h and then measure again, and check if voltage changed? maybe is one of those cases that is stuck in slow charging (mymatevince came across one of these in one of his videos)

Well I got around to messurea bit today and I have 5.2 V on the fuse and on pin 5 but 0 on pin 6. I also have some shorts on the caps under the cpu. Id say thats that and move on but then the thing still boots and works. It just wont charge... so it cant be a total failure.
Checked the lines going to p13usb and the seem alright (beep when going direkt, no beep when accross)

@Borega
When you plug a charger into the switch
Check the voltages on BQ24193

Pin 1 VBus should be high 5v-15v depending on charger
pin 2 if using the nintendo charger this pin should read low
pin 3 Should be low 0v
pin 4 should be low if charge in progress, if this pin is high charge is complete or disabled, if this pin is alternating from low to high this could indicate a fault.

I get 0 on most pins and 3.5v on some others. so nothing you are telling me fits. but I changed the bq before and I think the fault is somewhere else

Nintendo Charger is 0 Volt (but the original Charger does not turn on my volt meter for example so that thing seems strange). Pin 28 I gotta look up.

Anyone have any experience with blue screen consoles? I bought another round of broken consoles and stumbled upon one. I haven't poked around inside yet, just wanted to understand what others have experienced with blue screens.

they are the worse ones.. most probably the NAND, MEMORY or the TEGRA chips are either damaged or corrupted.

so far.. I have NOT been able to recover any blue screens or stuck in logo consoles :(

they are good donors tho ! LOL - normally all the other chips are good to pull

FWIW, I was able to recover a stuck in logo console the other night. After testing literally every cap and checking voltages all over the board I was desperate and decided to bake the board....

Connected it up and it booted. I haven't done much testing with it yet, though.
