It's not so much unattended that I have freezing issues. It's when I scroll through, say, the complete SNES rom set with boxart enabled.
Have you tried sticking your games into subfolders separated by genre? Like /RPG/ and /Strategy/ for example? Perhaps splitting the games up from one giant list to smaller lists will help with your freezing problem. Also, the SNES has many great games, but also many shitty games. Truncating your list down to display only good games is another potential solution.

I found a few more issues with RX:

1. While playing T2 the arcade game with superscope controller enabled, the game turns into a pink hue. I tired this with (USA) and (U) rom versions. Both do the same thing. When setting back to regular SNES controller, the game looks normal again.

2. (Minor nitpick) each time I start up the emulator with the channel forwarder it always displays some run boot.dol script prior to starting. Snes9xGX or other emulators don’t do this. Can this be taken out?

This, in fact, would be ideal. There's a limit of 1000 roms per folder, or else the Wii will run out of memory and end up freezing.

Ok, i'll check this behavior, haven't played too much of the ROM versions of most of the Super Scope games since i have the real cartridges and most of the peripherals, sans the mouse.

In how much time does the pink screen hue manifest? Is it a specific level? A screenshot and a save state would help too.

Yeah, i noticed that screen, but that's not from the emulator. You would need to kindly ask @Tanooki16, since he's the author of that Forwarder Channel Mod, and maybe to also look for the USB path (in case you need to).

Great man I really appreciate it! I was so happy because the lightgun games werent working on my snes9xgx but they work on RX. I will take a screenshot tonight but the color error starts on the first stage.

About the channel forwarder, should I pm him?

So! I reproduced the funny "pink hue bug". Went as far back as RX 2.9.0 which was still in my SD, still happens. If you'd like to help me possibly track down which change introduced this bug, i need you to test each of the remaining versions (2.5.0 up to 2.8.0). Start up with the first public release, maybe it does it already and it will save you some time, tell me how it goes.

Meanwhile, i have a workaround for you: while not as 'precise' as the Superscope behaves in-game, you can use the Snes Mouse, and enjoy normal colors

Sure I can do that and will let you know what I find! Where do I find these other versions for download?

Yah I can confirm that this is probably the best way to deal with this. I had to rebuild my rom collection after a total SD card death recently (I was an idiot, space was at a premium, so i couldn't justify keeping a backup), and curating my rom collection to games that I will actually play has cut down on the number of crashes down to 0.

Check the Github. First post.
Finally got around to trying the earlier release versions and the "pink hue bug" was introduced in your latest version. The earlier versions didn't support the superscope at all. The latest version supports it but triggers the background of the first stage to change color. Also, after switching back and forth from superscope to snes mouse settings, I seemed to entirely break the superscope option, as it doesn't even recognize the wiimote pointer anymore unless I delete the .xml settings and start snes9xrx from scratch, again. Hope this helps because I've been wanting to play T2 for so long at home with a wiimote.

No, not really. It's very important to be very specific and thorough when making any report, or else it tends to confuse normal users and also distort the bug hunt. I went ahead and personally tested the SuperScope in many of the previous versions. Just to clarify:

  • 2.5.0 up to 3.0.0 was partially broken, some games reported the buttons, some others don't. The cursor showed up, but it did not work as intended by the emulation.
  • 3.1.0 and onwards (i only skipped 3.4.0 up to 4.0.0): full support.
The "pink hue bug", which only happens when the SuperScope is activated, was always there since the first public version. Haven't tested all my previous archived beta files all the way back to 1.0.0.

That definitely did not happen here, even when i switched Mouse/SuperScope and reset the emulator at least 15 times straight. The only strange bug you might encounter with settings is if you tested your way up from 2.5.0 sequentially, as there was a settings save bug in the first versions. Other than that, there was no issue.

Sorry about leaving out that detail but I tested outback out 2.5 through 2.8. I wonder what is causing the pink hue bug. And also, no one else has even mentioned this yet.

Is there a way to quick save/load snapshots?

I mean save/load a snapshot without entering the menu. Just using a button or a combo of buttons in the gamepad.

No. Could be worth in theory, but someone is just gonna complain about pressing it by error, or something.

I don't even use save states for normal playing, only for tests tbh, so i don't mind going through the emulator menu.

Any plan to add suport gameboy roms ?(Super Gameboy like bsnes e higan)
Thanks for this fork :D
I think mGBA already covers Super Game Boy borders and extra stuff?

I seem to recall that VirtualBoy GX also does the special borders stuff, and probably the coloring, i haven't opened that emulator in a very long while. You can even select which kind of machine you're using for Game Boy emulation, which includes both versions of the SGB.

mGBA uses the SGB bios thingy, but i haven't even tested that.

It's not a bug, the palette changes on a real snes too. Look at the manual, Superscope section on page 5 of this pdf: https://www.gamesdatabase.org/Media..._Arcade_Game_-_1993_-_Ocean_Software_Ltd..pdf
