Hi everyone,

I was on a visit to hongkong and bought a switch (neon orange) model XAJ70066xxxxxx.

I came home and booted the console and found firmware 5.1.0 out of the box.

Did not connect to the internet as yet.

Any hopes for this console?? as pegascape is limited to 4.1.0 or below

The seller told me it was imported in december 2018 so i expected 4.1.0 out of the box, but no luck

Thanks all.
PS: I already have a switch which is hackable but i used it online only...

There is not ETA for when 5.1.0 support would be released, you are better off running CFW on an unpatched unit, worse case transfer everything from the unpatched unit you have to the patched unit and use the unpatched one for your hacking stuff.

agreed but it is too much of a hassle for me to transfer the account to my ipatched switch and also the saves.
but yes transferring the account is currently my only option i guess.

one switch is hackable but online but other is ipatched but on a vulnerable firmware 5.1.0 as per scires, so no need to be rude but you fail to understand once i update my ipatched switch i lose
homebrew forever on that switch.

There was no intention of being ride (maybe a bit sarcastic).
I just don't find it to be too much of a hassle to transfer the user from one switch to another. And if you find that to be a hassle, how come you don't find it a hassle to have to use a 'payload injector' each time you boot your switch?
About the ipatched switch, nobody knows when there'll be a a vulnearbility released for 5.1.
Could be tomorrow, could be never, who knows?

So, if you're playing online and want to hack a switch, it's a no-brainer for me.

I think your options are:

1. keep the ipatched unit on 5.1.0 and wait for possible exploits whenever that may be.

2. System transfer from your unpatched unit to the patched one, updating and potentially losing vulnerability on that switch but modding the other one right now

3. Sell the patched unit and look for a garunteed unpatched system to replace it.

4. Use emunand to play with mods on your current system, keep your sysnand clean for online, and cross your fingers you don't accidently mess up and get the ban hammer.
