The only other thing I would suggest is to look on here

https://gbatemp.net/threads/cbhc-mod-coldboot-haxchi-cfw-mod.453971/

and put all the things that you can autoboot with the mod on your sd, this may fix the problem

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

it may be loadiine that is missing

That would half way fix the problem, but you can't sync a gamepad in any homebrew app. So he'd still be stuck. His only option is wired Pro controller.

If it fix, I could boot cbhc using sync button and set to start sysmenu and finally sync my gamepad =]
I don't think a wired controlle will work, It's probably used for charging only

Not true, you can navigate system with Pro controller. From the CBHC thread

The menu controls are very simplistic, up/down to move the cursor and A to either select the option or change the autoboot option, you can control it using the gamepad or any wiimote, classic controller or wiiu pro controller OR if you are really desperate the the "sync" button on the console itself will work too - click once to move the cursor down and double click to simulate what A does normally.

But maybe you're right you could just use the sync button. I couldn't figure out how to use that CBHC mod myself though.

I read where someone got -5 and they were missing HBL and putting it in the appropriate place fixed it. Just to be 100% sure use H2Test on your sd card to make sure it's legit.

Why would an sd card be showing as a usb drive?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Try another sd card.

Get a legit card dude.

-5 SD Card found, can mount it, can't find/read/open the file

That's telling you your issue right there the Wii U can't read the files it needs to.

You should be able to buy a full sized sd card for cheap. Get a 32 gb you need one anyway to install big games.

So wait I'm confused are you sticking the usb adapter in the Wii U usb port? That will never work at all. if you were going to use micro sd (which I don't really recommend but could work if you have one with decent speeds) you need an sd card adapter and it has to go in the sd card slot.

Ok so you're just using it on your PC then I guess you don't have an sd card slot? That makes sense. But I still think the micro sd card could be the issue. There's only one way to find out heck go buy one and if it don't fix your issue take it back and get the money back.

Although if you don't have a sd card slot on your PC it still won't work on your PC. If you do have one that works why are you using a usb adapter?

I'm just telling you something's up maybe that usb adapter formatted your sd card inproperly because it should not show as a usb device on your pc it's an sd card. I think we're getting to the issue here.

because my pc hasn't SD slot. Also, It'll be hard getting a SD card here, I live in smalltown and I'll have to get from the internet, and it won't be cheap to send to me.

This is something you should have explained from the beginning we've wasted 5 pages helping you. It's not normal to use a usb adapter for a sd card. That's your problem right there I guarantee it I'm not wasting anymore time on this it's not really any of our problems that it's expensive to get one where you live or that you don't have an sd card slot. That's your problem.

-5 error is it cant read a certain file, placing this file on the sd would make it boot correctly, his sd is most likely fine

His sd card shows as a usb device explain that. If you want to waste more time on this go ahead I'm not.

Never once have I seen an sd card show as a usb device I guarantee that's the problem. If I'm wrong and you can fix it I'll apologize to both of you. Good luck.

nonsense, It's just a device to transfer files, Just placed all files again using a client's PC which has SD reader and I got the same -5 like before, I don't think the micro SD it's the issue since I bought it recently, I don't think the micro SD it's the issue here.

Ok put that sd card in an sd card adapter and put it in your PC and tell me does it say usb device? You're doubling down on dumb you're blaming me when you should blaming the OP who should have explained this from the beginning. Both of you are wrong and unless he reformats an sd card properly it will NEVER work. Have fun I'm out.

I'm not blaming anybody, but I do have micro sd adapters that say on the computer that it is a usb drive, is that what you are saying?

Screen capture it or it didn't happen.

He's using a usb adapter not an sd card adapter you do realize that right? Are you using one of those? It's not the same thing.

It's highly unlikely the original owner was using some CBHC mod. He probably had it set to Homebrew Launcher, but since the Wii U can't read the OPs sd card he can't get to it even though it's on his sd card properly.

Dude, I'm using a USB adapter only in my computer, It's just to transfer files. it's formatted to 32GB through guiformat and works just fine! the problem is not the microSD I just asked the original owner about what kind of card he was using when he got the error, and he just replied to me that it was a normal SD card, So like I said, the micro SD it's not the problem.
