Streets of Rage 4 Gamescom gameplay footage, Nintendo Switch version confirmed

The music is okay, not really comparable to Streets of Rage 2's OST. The gameplay looks like they didn't really improve it beyond 3's gameplay, like it's really stiff. It's fairly obvious that the sounds they're using is placeholder since they're ripped straight from the old games. Graphics look decent, at least way better than the Battletoads game that's coming out. Hope they polish this game up more before release!

The design screams french style. Love it.
Despite knowing the series, my favourite was always Final Fight.

But I gotta say, this is how comebacks should be made.

I feel like this kind of game is perfect for the Switch's pop-and-go coop, due to the controllers.

my 2nd console was a Genesis (1st was NES) My sega came with part 2. I loved that game. my fav was Eddie "Skate" Hunter because of how he jumped on the enemy's shoulders and beat the crap outta em. but to be honest, I dont like the art style of p4 --- too comix zone-ish

I don't think they will ever be able to top the magic that was SoR2's sound track. It captured a time, place, theme and design that is like taking a rip through a time when ever it's played.

I still really want to see a port of Streets Of Rage Remake ported over to the switch. Something about taking Max and Skate through 1 2 and 3 hahah.

I’m sure we will be able to adjust the volume for music and sfx separately. That’s pretty normal for most games. A fun tip for beat’em ups, turn the tv music off and blast some lamb of god, slayer, or megadeth. Smash the buttons to the beat of the drums. Oh it’s so nice when it all hits together.

They've improved quite a lot of things in this version (played 1,2,3 on SEGA). I especially like that your health returns back if you take no damage after using your special.
Can't wait for this one.

yeah 90s were side scrollers and beaten ups on every console, nowadays side scrollers and beaten ups are only done by indie devs bassicaly.

I'm twice excited.

Sure, I was more a double dragon and final fight beat 'em up player (never had a sega console), but I know streets of rage by fame (and later by emulation).

On top of that...dotemu is pretty good at doing retro style games. I really liked playing Raptor: call of the shadows again, and pang:adventures even more!

Never liked Sega version... Not my things, I guess. However, good for fan people, thought.

They will need to make more AAA for Switch. Seems that they are ports mostly like this one instead of AAA, SMH. Sighing.

SoR 1 was one of the games for grown ups when I first experienced my MD.
I still remember kicking the final boss with some friends, sheer accomplishment feeling, and then riding our bikes to play outside till the end of the afternoon.
Memory is a strange thing...

The nice touch I really like, is that Axel was designed so it really feels 30 years passed by (not Blaze though, I won't blame them).
