Nice timing. I can watch this from work. B-) (without sound, obviously, but ey...better than nothing)

...of course, provided that work stays as calm as it currently is (which is to say: unlikely).

Let's see...my attempt at round-up:

Risk of Rain 2 : sequel to the acclaimed roguelike game
Eastward : seems like stardew valley clone (not too unsurprising, since it's from the same company)
Freedom finger: satirical sidescroller shooter. Perhaps with story mixed in.
Röki (erm...like the flame & the flood?)
Torchlight 2...diablo 2 clone (which was my goty game a couple years ago)
skater XL...Tony Hawk ish game? certainly has the same quality of yesteryear
youropa: beautiful 3D puzzle platformer, I guess (think the blob meets enslaved journey to the west)...has gravity bending...and a block/portal gun?
Superhot: it's like superhot. :P available today, apparently
Dungeon defenders: awakened. Tower defense. (perhaps like orcs must die, but might be my impression)
The touryst: pixelated puzzle/open world adventure game (by the makers of 'Fast')
Skellboy: hack 'n slash with paper mario graphics?
Earthnight: surrealistic 2.5D platforming game. On impressions I'd situate it somewher between Rayman and bit.trip runner
Hotline Miami collection: so...1 & 2 combined, I presume. Available today

Blasphemous: Grim 2D metroidvania
Cat Quest 2: hack & slash
Spiritfarer: platform adventure (buddy?)
Trine 4
Creature in the wall: isometric 2D
One finger death punch 2: awesome fighter
Best friend forever: I...dunno. Anime weird stuff, I presume
Phogs! snake pass but with worse graphics?
Waht the golf? surrealistic golf
Kine: more weird stuff
Hypercharge: unboxed: 3D shooter
Northgard: RTS/civ ish game
Sparklite: action RPG
Munchkin: quacked quest: hack 'n slash
(note: the above 14 are displayed in rather quick succession)

Ori and the blind forest: definitive edition the incredibly beautiful 2D platformer makes its way to the switch september 27th

...and we're done. So...28 games in about as many minutes. Can't say I disliked much. :)

Overall note: unless there's spoken audio, things are pretty much back to back trailers.

Those were definitely indie games, some interested me like touryst and Eastward. I don't play a lot of indie stuff though. This wasnt really for me. I do hope we get a standard direct next month

The only thing that interested me this time around was SUPERHOT, but that was leaked on the eShop servers yesterday or so. I might check out Ori and the blind forest sometime though. (by the way, an xbox games studios game coming to switch is great news! it paves the way for future games... *coughcough*rarereplay*cough*

In conclusion, I think I'm just not going to get along with some tempers. I mean, sure, torchlight 2 isn't exactly new, but it was my most liked game of 2014. The touryst caught my eye as well, but I'm cautious about it (just how big is that open world?). Trine's always been beautiful. Glad to see it return to 2.5D.

Hotline miami, superhot and one finger death punch 2 aren't games I'd expect on the switch. The latter is actually my favorite of the bunch. It's fighting moves are simple to the point of being cliché over the top (think gregorian chants in a rising sun background while doing kung fu with a light saber), but damnit is it satisfying.

Northgard really took me by surprise. That's a full scale RTS. While not as fast as, say, starcraft 2, I'm really curious how this works out.

...and of course: Ori. I've already played through this on steam, but it remains one of the most beautiful games I've ever played. I only wonder what's it doing in an indie roundup (it's published by microsoft, FFS. I get that 'being developed by' is different from the producer, but it's hardly a fair comparison).

I agree with you. Pretty good for a nindies tbh. But unfortunately most of it was leaked which killed some surprise

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.

It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
