Double check your game version and the title id you used for the hack. You might be, for example, using the EU title id when you actually have an American CIA, or the special edition title id when your game is Conquest plus DLC.
I am using special edtion USA and I already checked it before
I tried puting the romfs folder of the hack on sdcard -> luma -> title -> gameid but it didnt work, so i tried extracting the romfs and then put the hack on the folder and rebuild the romfs but it didnt work either
I honestly dont know what else i could try to do

Hey there! I decided to try to get back into this hack today after not touching my game for at least a year, and I was also running into the issue you describe on the previous page-- I use Luma and CIA backups of both Awakening and Fates, but every time I tried to open Fates, it would crash, while Awakening ran perfectly. After doing some troubleshooting, I found that downgrading to v0.6.2 made the Luma exception errors stop, and now my copy of Gay Fates loads up perfectly! I'm not sure quite what the problem is, but something about v0.6.2.1 seems to be causing the crashes. Since the only thing changed in that update is Niles' gender byte (which can be changed back by hand or by the cheat engine on the first page, since you say you're using the USA Special Edition), I think the easiest solution is just to downgrade.

Are there supposed to be parent-child support conversations for Mitama-Subaki or F!Kana-Niles, or Saizo/Silas supports? When I tried each of these I just got the popup that said they’ve reached C rank, and there was no other dialogue. The parent-child ones also don’t show in the support log, but Saizo/Silas does even though there still isn’t an actual support between them.

Edit: Leo/Silas also just brought up the "Silas and Leo have achieved c rank" box without any dialogue! Is there something I may have done wrong to keep certain hacked supports from showing up, or has dialogue for these not actually been written yet? I also noticed that when I go to the support log and look at the list for Silas, Saizo and Leo aren't in his list at all, but Silas appears in Saizo and Leo's lists.

Some supports don't have implemented conversations yet. I can't remember off the top of my head if the ones you mentioned are implemented, and afaik the implemented supports list is outdated. An easy way to check is to try something that's 100% certainly implemented, like anything listed as having a convo in the changelog. If those don't work either then the filenames might've been corrupted during extraction.

Ohh, I see, I had assumed all the added supports had conversations! The conversations for Subaki/Azama and Effie/Elise's added s supports do work for me, so it must be that the ones I mentioned just don't have conversations implemented yet.

So I'm playing using a EU Birthright cart with DLC for Revelation and Conquest, the Luma patch seems to work on my current playthrough (Birthright) but I'm wondering if it'll work for the other paths when I start them? Some of the posts make it sound like it won't but if there's a work around that doesn't involve getting the Special Edition CIA, that would be cool.

So I have a question about the method linked in the op to get children out of same sex supports. Flagging certain characters as the opposite gender seems simple enough, but can it be done with the luma version of the hack or is applying the unlock all paralogues unlocked patch my only option to get children here?

Edit: For some reason applying the Lunar IPS patch for unlocking all the paralogues crashes my game when I start it back up?

I had that problem when I initially installed the hack, did you directly apply the patch to the file or did you decompress it using the BatchLZ77 program first? I had to do that then apply the patch and recompress it to get it to work

Also I found the answer to my question, I started a Conquest run on my Birthright cartridge and the S supports for the Nohrian characters showed up so I can assume it works with just the Birthright Luma folder.

Tried to decompress it at first, but I got an error telling me that it wasn't a compressed file. Got a similar error when I decided to try my hand at the hex editing needed to manually flag one of each of my same sex pairs as the opposite gender. At first I thought that meant that it was already decompressed and I could just apply the patch even though I know I recompressed it after applying the Flora early join patch.

When it started to crash my game I began to fool around with the backup of the gamedata.bin.lz file I had copied to a folder on my computed. For some reason I could decompress the backup just fine which was confusing to say the least. Still, I was able to work with that and I proceeded to go along with the hex editing method which went off without a hitch.

Hello,

I do not now if someone asked already this in the comments (since there is 110 pages), but does this patch/mod work for emulators. I play Fates in Citra Emulator on my PC, so I will like to know if I would possible for me to get all these extra support conversations for the game.

Thanks

Hi there! Yes, you can play in citra, in the Awakening post in the last comments explain a bit how to do it, anyway I translated the patch almost completely into Spanish, and I made a guide to use it in citra, here I attached it, it is in Spanish:

and if anyone is interested, here is the link to the most recent translation into Spanish

That's not the case at all? You should be able to install this with little issue whether physical or digital.

What version are you trying to get this to work on and what method are you using to install the patch?

Oh ok phew! That's what the girl said in the video on the video on the first page.

Is there a way to change gender using the hex editor FEFTwiddler? I’m trying to get the kids from same sex parents but method with HxD won’t work for me.

Hi, I found a way to make it very easy:

-Go to "Unit Viewer" on FEFTwiddler

-Select one of the parents of the children you want to recruit, and where you put the character's class change it to its female version (For example, Ryoma from Swordmaster (M) you change it to Swordmaster (F))

-Save your file.

-Play the paralogue and recruit the children, in this way they will recognize both parents and siblings.

-After recruiting the children returns to FEFTwiddler and returns the father's class changed to as it was originally.

PD: Never make a change in Corrin, always with the opposite father. With Corrin this method may not cause the paralogues to appear and you must unlock all the paralogues with the "ParaloguesGameData.ips"

I hope this helps.

Hello
So I tried this and it didn’t work.
I tested it out with Saizo and Takumi. I made Saizo a female ninja before doing their S support and there were no paralogues added. Did I do something wrong?

Oh, I thought it would work.

Honestly, I have never used this without having applied the ips patch to GameData.bin.lz, I assumed it would work and the paralogues would appear. Sorry.

The best option would be to unlock all the paralogues and have them recognized as a family, changing to the female class of one of the parents with FEFTwiddler.

Don’t worry it’s okay.
My issue is that I originally tried to get the kids with the method on the front page of the thread using braindump, But I couldn’t find a way to get the gamedata.bin.lz in the first place which is why I turned to trying it in the FEFTwiddler. Whenever I would extract romfs.bin from the braindump it would just have 2 .png files. Do you know what I’m doing wrong so that I can use this method and have it work?

So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.
