Please send the MD5 checksum of your `nds-bootstrap-release.nds` file, using http://onlinemd5.com

I will do that in a minute but I forgot to set 16:10 in the options. After doing this and selecting Super Mario 64 DS, a message on the bottom said "Failed to Backup Custom TwlBg"

MD5 Checksum is AF04ADDC8AAFDBBD1057361376AB5D86

That's the correct checksum.
Try with no "TwlBg.cxi" and no "TwlBg_bak.cxi" in "sd:/luma/sysmodules", and just have "Widescreen.cxi" at "sd:/_nds/TWiLightMenu/TwlBg".

Well, I'm not sure exactly what fixed it but this step seems to have finally made the game display properly this time! Thanks for going through all these steps with me!

A suggestion: Maybe it could be a good idea to mark in the game list with something to show that the game is widescreen compatible.

Hey, I am having issues loading games with some cheat codes. More specifically I am trying to run Star Fox Command with the D-Pad Hack cheat instead of a patched rom so I can play in widescreen but if the cheat is selected the game will not boot and get stuck in a white screen (sometimes the top is black) but if the cheat is disabled it loads fine.

That's a known issue? Is there a solution for this or I am doing something wrong?

Other cheats seem to be working fine for other games like the No 3D Edge for Pokémon and etc.

Sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't read all the thread.

This is an nds-bootstrap issue. Not all cheats will work properly.

Okay, I have a curious emulation question. I have an old 3DS, and there are some games on official virtual console -mainly SNES games- that only work with on new 3DS, let's say, like, Breath of Fire. What about emulating that with Twilight Menu on an old 3DS? Would it work?

Yeah. Some won't work, ofc.

SNES emulation on the original DS is somewhat finicky in a couple of areas last I tried it myself. You can only really expect games that don't really take advantage of the SNES' special modes/chips to work too well.

I'd instead recommend trying to use SNES9X for Old 3DS for any SNES games you want to emulate on an Old 3DS, as it's programmed to take advantage of the 3DS' hardware, rather than being restricted to the DS side of things. You get generally better performance and have more screen scaling options and a bunch of other goodies.

On another topic, thanks so much for this release! Been digging up a couple of my old 3D DS titles and a lot look absolutely gorgeous with the widescreen filter and I love how easy it is to toggle. Probably going to be playing Mario 64 DS and some more Mario Kart again.

According to the compatibilty list the english translation of Summon Night X should work without problems, but everytime I try to start the game it just goes back the the title screen.

Turn off "Update recently played list" in TWLMenu++ settings.

Sorry, I meant everytime I select "New Game" the game loops back to the title screen.
That was my first guess, lol
Sounds like an AP issue. If the ROM isn't pre-patched, AP-patch the clean ROM first, then patch the AP-patched ROM with the english translation.
