Nintendo files with the FCC for a SNES controller compatible with the Nintendo Switch

t0vK7B1.png

It's been a long wait, but it seems like we're getting ever so much closer to playing Super Nintendo games on the Nintendo Switch in an official format. A new update on the FCC indicates that Nintendo has filed the documentation for a wireless SNES controller, compatible with the Switch. The image on the FCC only shows the back of the controller, but it also shows the supposed model number--HAC-042--which is the naming scheme used for other official first-party Switch hardware. Next month marks a full year since Nintendo began offering their Nintendo Switch Online services, so the company could be preparing to give users a reason to re-subscribe to another year of NSO, in order to play Super Nintendo games. Previously, Nintendo released NES controllers compatible with the Nintendo Switch, which could be purchased by users that had an active subscription to Nintendo Switch Online.

With Super Mario World and Pilot Wings as launch titles
hahahahahahahahahahahahahah

And then they'll give you Zelda AlttP and Metroid.

probably. They were among a list of games on titles data-mined from the servers before Nintendo removed them. They also removed a BSnes based emulator from the Nintendo switch’s firmware 2 or 3 months after adding it in

I hope not the bad localization script form the GBA version. Some translated was incorrected so I hope they have an accurate translate but I doubt they will bring this to SNES, thought.
There isn't much point if they can just keep using the GBA version. Even though the snes game is better for the resolution, it never stopped someone from making such silly decisions. For example how wario's woods on nes is always ported to virtual console and never the SNES version which makes things awkward.

Perhaps.. It won't hurt to ask. I prefer SNES for the resolution and better music than GBA version and hate GBA's script translation.

Well you know, wouldn't be capcom without bad localization practice. That's their best quality. From breath of fire (Which was scripted by square soft originally) to Mega man battle network. You get the idea. :P

They could fix the script on the vc titles but they too lazy.

two: hey that's a nice controller!

I'll happily accept Snes games for my switch, especially since the switch lite will have a d-pad. I hope they do Gamecube one day, that shit would be lit

Eh it just makes me mad that's all
I honestly enjoy Paying for NSO, (this might sound bad but) it weeds out people who have bad signals(atleast alot of them), because people using crappy signals, can't pay for crap wifi and an NSO sub.

I could totally be wrong, but after the week trial for NSO, I got less laggy games, and less disconnects. Only other Explanation I can think of is that Ninty somehow fixed the wifi enough to where less lag and less DC's being a thing.

I don't really care about the titles, but an official SNES controller for switch is nice. I wanted one for Mario Maker 2.

With the NES thing I never understood why they release games so slowly, instead of basically just releasing the entire, or large part of, the library, or at least in large batches instead of what they do now. Are we supposed to be excited about being able to play a few old nes games every month?
I honestly hope SNES won't be paid vc and will be included in the nintendo online sub.
my guess is that it's trying to make the games compatible and glitch free

Dude... asking if you should get excited for playing old games... when most of you are paying for a service that's actually free in terms of emulation.... literally... with all the library of games...

And now you're gonna pay for SNES titles that, yet again, can be played for free... and on top of it, restricted titles because NIntendo is kind of a bitch recently.
Some people don't like to pirate.
> Paying for a Nintendo Online subscription for that "because it's on Switch"
Meanwhile on Wii you can almost play all the VC games from the NES to the Wii by the N64 for free
> Human vulnerability or stupidity to marketing confirmed at its best point

Nintendo Online is and will just stay a big joke
Again, some people don't want to pirate.

But do you guys really believe that people buy NSO for the NES games? People buy it to play online, cause if you wanna play online, you have no choice.
Only a handful of people give a shit about the NES games. Now if they release SNES games, I'll be slightly more interested, but it's not a selling point for NSO at all, it's just an excuse to charge money without needing to improve their online services to be up to par with the competition.

I think he must be confusing NES and BSnes. There was a NES emulator in there in honor of Iwata that could run Golf, that could only be accessed at a certain date of the year. You used to be able to trick the system into running it on other dates but they fixed that a few months after release. It's got nothing to do with other people's emulators.
