Early build of Hyrule Field from The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, remake is being created using Unity 3D. A lot of work needs to be done and this demo is a very early build. No copyright intended, all credit goes to Nintendo and respective owners and creators of the original content.
Criticism is well accepted even if is not all positive, it is a very early proof of content and was created to see what unity was able to do. A loyt of work needs to be done since is a very early project that had to be started from scratch again.

It won't ever happen because you don't have the time, skill or will to recreate all of it.

I never aid it was gonna happen as I would get in trouble with Nintendo, as I stated "A lot of work needs to be done and this demo is a very early build" as well as " very early proof of content and was created to see what unity was able to do". Thanks for the feedback, time is a big factor for sure since working full time and school does not help it. Skills is something I lack too since I am still learning. Will is something that I do have, but as we all know is not possible just to recreate a whole game without getting in trouble. The project was more of a weekly use of unity as a way to finish my summer break and put my skills to use, more will come. Also you are so right on most of the things you said and criticism is well accepted, truly appreciate it!

Why is this at NSwitch threads if its not gonna be on the Switch. Btw, good luck with the project :)
I just was not sure where to post it, I know the switch is able to run Unity games so I just picked the first thing that came to mind. What would be the best category to post it then? :)

AWESOME!

That being said...if you want to finish this thing and have people play it...please, please, PLEASE don't show anything else, anywhere until it is complete, lest Nintendo will c&d you faster than you can say fan project.
It was most of a way to see what Unity would be able to do. I know I called it remake in the description, but since we know Nintendo I do not think is worth to risk my future over a demo! is more of a fun project to show what Unity is capable of doing. Thanks!

Cell Shading is something I have been looking forward to use but I have not being able to get the scripts I need working. I could truly see WW style working with this! thanks for the feedback, it also means a whole reboot of the project to get to work! Sounds interesting to try for sure :)

Probably a beta model just to test stuff out
I could possibly upload the build of what I have but is way to broken and early to even show anything playable. It would be more like explore a way to broken level.

Why does link have freakishly long arms and weird hands lol.
He does! haha
The reason for that is because I am using the default Unity character animator to be able to move my link 3D model. I have not make any animations at all but use what Unity has by default XD

I dropped this on the video comments too but here's some feedback but I'm very interested to see where this goes!

"Very neat! Don't forget to set his hands to be in fists or even a little "idle animation" when idling! In unity this can be pretty easily done. Might I recommend when he turns, add a little foot shuffle animation to show him turning!

A dynamic bone in his hat would add a little life to his hat-tip. :)

And for a shader I would highly recommend : https://github.com/albertomelladoc/Wind-Waker-Shader

Will make the whole thing look and feel a lot like wind waker!

Best of luck, I'll be looking forward to it!"

It looks cool! One thing I'd suggest is maybe a style of 3D kind of like how Pokemon does it or maybe an option to change camera settings?

Thank you for all the great feedback, animations within Unity are a little weird and I am not that great with scripts on either Java or C#. I could see the use of a dynamic bone to make it feel a little more alive haha. I actually tried some of those scripts but Unity keep son saying something is bronke and I have not being able to figure out how to fix the problem. I truly feel based in comments that it just needs a whole Wind Waker treatment.

Yeah I agree on that for sure, is hard to get the right feel for it. 3D doesnt seem to work well for it so maybe a top 2D view would be a better approach.
Top down would actually work very well! If you use the right graphics then it could end up being very good too. I don't want to sound mean but at this stage the graphics are very bad, but the Link model is actually pretty good. I think a cartoony style would work well

I actually agree about the look of graphics, it was a demo put together a bit faster than expected. I appreciate constructive criticism since it helps tons.

Don't try and rush it, make sure it gets the time it deserves. Hope it turns out good! Good luck!

My expectation for this was/ is for people to say what they suggest so I can work on it as something more presentable. I lack time but enjoy putting new learned skills to use and it will get time for sure. Thank you!! :)
