Google will hold a Stadia Connect livestream on August 19th, plans to show off "brand-new titles"

Just as Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony all do livestreams every so often to showcase their upcoming games, so will Google. On August 19th, the tech giant will be streaming their latest presentation for the Stadia, in a "Stadia Connect" video. The video will go live just before Gamescom 2019 kicks off, giving us a further look at what Google has in store for games, behind-the-scenes details, announcements, and more for the Stadia.

For people who still don't know:
the 5G is REAL! and it's 5 times faster than actual fiber!
So stop worrying about internet connections.
I really Hope this is a joke because no way a 5g over the air signal is 5gb/s (5000mbps!) speeds, heck I highly doubt 5g will pass even 1gigabit connections like normal fiber speeds, 5g “could” in theory go to those speeds, but haven’t, likely never for the consumer.

I really hope Stadia fails. The game industry is already fucked up as it is, and the last thing we need is another evil company sticking their tentacles into it.

Not sure if trolling, or just dumb...

Anyways, at the end of the day, it is still a streaming service and there will indefinitely be input lag.. Not to mention how jittery some connections can and will be. I wish they'd stop trying to make this a thing.

Guess u don't know what 5G is huh? I searched it for u:

the Speed matters
5G will not become a thing soon, some evidence came out not so long ago that 5G can pose a serious health issue regarding radiation that causes inflamation of the skin and oxidative stress of cells wich can lead to cancer. So regarding it being unclear if it can or not can cause cancer Europe will be holding back for quite some time till more research has been done.
It's quite funny that ONLY American research is claiming it is not unsafe and doesn't pose a threat while research outside of the US claims it can be.
In Belgium we would normally already have 5G but they halted it because more research has to be done if it is safe and it probably isn't so no 5G won't be a thing for the coming years.

You know..I'm actually kind of looking forward to what Google has in store for us.
Here's hoping they don't mess up big time.
Oh come on now it's not Xbox so they're all fine Lol.

That moment when people think fiber has to do with speeds, and not the pieces of communicating equipment at both ends...
Wireless technology is still in its infancy, I highly doubt it will properly catch up to the speeds and reliability that a combination of copper and fiber will provide

Stadia is garbage. The main reasons I hate streaming is because these awful companies remove games from the servers after licensing deals finish for example Scott Pilgrim vs The World (X360), Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1+2 (PS4), Game Pass (Xone), If there is no physical media games will be lost for ever.

Whys everyone talking about 5G & Fibre. Direct your criticism at google stadia.

You speak of this thing like it's the holy grail of gaming.

Yes, 5G is a thing, but there is still the issue with data caps for some services and peak periods. Keep in mind also that 5G is a high-frequency band, and is thus, more susceptible to interference than lower frequencies. In other words, your results will vary. If you're in a densely populated area and enough 5G hotspots around you with no trees interfering with your signal, then yeah, it will be viable. Video quality gets reduced when things don't go well for your connection, and in-house connectivity can be an issue, especially in household where 2+ people are trying to stream 4k video on Netflix. For most people, connections aren't going to be good enough that they'd get quality video in their streams. And expect lag spikes to be a real game killer for you, especially since it's on-demand, not pre-streamed.

In all seriousness though, never get your hopes up. The Stadia service still has some of questions around it - another being game ownership. If the service gets shut down due to lack of adoption, then unless Google reimburses you, your games are gone. And right now, there is plenty of skepticism and a lot of people who prefer to own their game libraries on localized hardware rather than having it on some server in California. Unless Google pulls a miracle out of their ass with this service, it's only going to go as far as Steam Link did in terms of adoption, and may well go on Google's failed projects list.

so what? I have fiber optic FTTH here and on a lot of games the minimum ping I get is like 80 ms to Europe servers and that's when I'm lucky since most are always around 100ms...

If they don't put a server near where I live = FAIL here because sure I get around 2 ms for servers on my island around 40 km away from here, but then mainland is around 1000KM away...

Then theres Sony, there's M$ and there's Nvidia, they all have streaming services even though I hear how much google want to improve over any of the competition and blahblahblah, but with Nvidia at least on my Nvidia Shield tablet for now its still free the fact that I can actually play games that I own on my steam account and play them on the tablet using nvidia servers and some games if you buy from Nvidia you not only get the streaming game, but you actually get a digital copy of the game to play on your own PC and at least on that part I don't think google will ever do the same, but I can be wrong...

Anyway I don't care a single crap, they could even have 2ms servers here in my island and I can't give a single F* about streamed games where I own nothing, I prefer my own hardware and my own games to keep for ever...

ps: Also forgot to say when most streaming services start they look amazing like onlive, Nvidia... They have so many free stuff to do, Nvidia even offered for free for a few years on my Nvidia Shield tablet a lot of games and now = PAID even though the steam games are still free for now until it falls into the same subscription garbage. Probably at the beginning google will be like hey we give everything, you even get free pussy and some year = pay, pay and pay and then pay more and more and more, same crap with XbLive, PSN and any garbageware subscriptions, at some point they just keep increasing prices... Onlive even though didnt work as good as modern streamed stuff, it was 100% free to make a account and we could test any game very fast where we didnt have demos, but at some point to create a account got paid... Anyway I had a old free account and only tested like 2 games on a old laptop and I would never buy a single game\subscription anyway for a online streaming service no matter if it's gaming, movie, music, porn or whatever garbage...
