well i know that the psp has it's own custom ctf themes that change the whole psp xmb menu. i was wondering is it possible the vita could do that?

edit: not custom themes, but how the menu is changed around like the custom switch menus are.

I think this might be fine:
http://psv.altervista.org/

Although the PSP has the best themes but knowing Sony, they simply wants to lock everything up.

what Darksabre72 means is, also the way the menu acts and behave.

not just the icons and wallpaper. if im not mistaken

It is possible, after all the launcher is an app itself - but it needs to integrate into the system differently from a normal app (same as on the 3DS), but unlike the 3DS I don't even think those "integration points" are documented

so in a way you need the keys to the live area itself?

what's being displayed is done from the app.db like they have 10 positions on screen, so it goes from 0-9. what you want might be possible but not without a lot of reverse engineering.

To do a proper job you'd need a complete functions list (full source or at least symbols/headers) and provide an acceptable replacement for each of them

For example, when you start a download in the PS Store or pkgJ, a notification (with progress and pause/continue/stop controls) is created, suggesting the livearea is at least partially responsible for downloads - that would have to be implemented in the hypothetical replacement, as would be the ability to properly pause/resume/stop running applications, etc...

it's possible to do this with the psp side of things but not currently with the vita. the psp has 138 menu and one menu (not sure if they still work but they did on the vita several firmwares ago).

That's just an application that you set to autoboot. You can do the same on the Vita, there just isn't any proper replacement as far as I am aware.

i really was hoping for one to appear due to the vita security been broken and the boom of ps vita hacking.

not sure. the menus for the psp can be added by manipulating the appinfo table of the app.db. just direct the system to the main executable (eboot, fboot, vboot). don't know if it still works, and I think that was only when using an actual psp game for adrenaline.

Besides the switch one(not working for me on 3.65), there is onemenu. I still just prefer the vita livearea to either of them though.

From what people say pvp isn't even worth it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

I bet most people at the time still watched it in black and white

@Xdqwerty, Many of them did before colour television was common.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@K3Nv2, take into consideration how economy was back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why they listed inflation rates
