Hi everyone,

I have just put a AGS-101 screen on my old GBA, changed the speaker, and I received the EZ-Flash Reform card yesterday.
I noticed that even with new batteries, sometimes the light is flickering especially after a reset from a game (back to the EZ-Flash menu) or during a loading of a game (also, this morning it turned red on a game during 10 minutes or more, and then I restarted and it was green for few hours). It's been just one day and I didn't try with a classical cartridge during few hours (but as long as I remember I have never noticed this issue before I use EZ-Flash), but is it possible that the EZ-Flash cart triggers a sort of... dysfunction with the battery LED of GBA ? Or maybe it's the LED on the motherboard ?

Do you have the same issue or a similar problem ?

Thank you :)

I recently picked up a Supercard SD from a friend who upgraded to a EZ Flash Omega. Though it's not the same card, I have the same problem with my battery light flickering and turning red and giving me all sorts of random info, even with a stock GBA SP. I just figured it was a common problem.

most flash cards pull more juice than a regular game cartridge. It could be putting stress on a connection that is not well seated.... I'd recheck the ribbon on the screen where it goes into the board and then check the power switch. My Sp had the red light to green back and forth till i cleaned the power switch.

Apparently flash carts are higher drain, however... I had the flickering LED with normal carts, especially original GB Pokemon games. I dismantled the GBA, removed the shielding from the power switch and carefully cleaned the contacts inside. The contacts went from black to shiny copper, and since reassembling I haven't had a single LED flicker. Your issue may be different but that's something you can maybe investigate.

Thank you all for your answers ! I have to open my GBA by the way, to change my silicon pads, so I think I'm gonna clean all of the motherboard carefuly with ethanol, and see if it solves the issue. If anyone use EZ-Flash with a microUSB lithium battery, I'm curious to know if there is the same issue with the LED indicator of the battery itself.
