OP
I used to follow natural health fanatically. For the most part, I've stopped, but some old habits still remain. I don't remember the last time I ate something which was heated in the microwave. Now I'm tempted by the microwave's incredible convenience.

Edit: I’m specially talking about food reheated in the microwave. I don’t eat microwave meals (they taste like shit anyway), and I have a stove to cook with.

The kinds of foods that are packaged for microwave cooking, yes. They are generally bad for you. Using a microwave, no. A microwave vibrates water molecules creating heat. It is in no way bad for you.

No. Microwave( oven)s are exactly what they say they are: ovens. They can cook food unevenly, so never cook raw food in one without proper care, like testing internal temperature and such, but other than that no.

The food you eat is more dangerous than a properly crafted microwave.

They use heat energy/radiation/radio waves. Also molecules are always vibrating :D
And yeah generally microwaved food is bad for you or just low quality (like tv dinners and all that)

Not at all, that heating process is called cooking, i could argue that a microwave can be healthier in many case since it doesen't create as much maillard reaction than using a pan (although maillard reaction taste really nice)
What matters is what food you put in, not the microwave heating itself

It could be argued that they're healthier than grilling or baking, at least for some foods, since they don't cook hot enough to create as much acrylamide, which is considered carcinogenic in high amounts.

The biggest factor though is what you're actually cooking. Prepackaged microwave meals are bad for you because of all the preservatives, etc, and in some cases the plastic trays can leach chemicals into the food. But if you're cooking whole foods in glass containers it's all good. There's a a bit of learning curve for cooking some foods but most can be cooked just fine in the microwave. Fish, chicken, eggs, almost anything else as long as it fits. Just make sure to stick to glassware and ceramics if possible. After several incidents I don't trust any plastics even if they're listed as microwave safe. And a big hell no to styrofoam.
