hi, how to install nsp game in atmos cfw
already download CTR game
there is Base Game, DCL, and Update File v1.0.3 , 1,0,4 and 1.0.5
First we have to install base game right
and then, what should we have install first, DLC or Update file after base game?
and should we install update first with v1.0.3 after that 1.0.4 and 1.0.5 or we can go 1.0.5 and skip update file 1.0.3 and 1.0.4?
You install Base Game, DLC and latest update file only. Update files are inclusive of all previous updates. It doesn't matter which order you install them in. Make sure you grabbed the correct ES and FS patches otherwise you won't be able to install or launch it.

Before I get to my main question my Switch is on 8.1 is that hackable?
I'm planning on getting Skyrim on my Switch. I just learned that there's mods for it on Switch as well.
I'm guessing I need CFW to use mods on my Switch. That said can I get banned for using mods even if its not an online game?

I bought a used Switch that is vulnerable to hacking. It's running Firmware 4.1.0

Is it safe to update to the latest firmware before/after using CFW? Or should I just stay on 4.1.0?

And I know the answer is probably no, but if I do the SDXC update that won't mess with my ability to use CFW, right?

Firmware only matters if your console is patched. If it is unpatched, then you can hack it no matter what firmware it is on. But if it is patched, then you can currently only run CFW from firmware 4.1 and below. You can check to see if it is patched or not by comparing its serial number to the ones listed in this thread. If it is patched, then you should return it and/or buy an unpatched console as a patched console on firmware 8.1 may not get CFW for a long time if ever. And much like any other hack, you risk a ban even when using mods.

Much like the person above you, firmware is important if the console is patched. If it is not patched, then the firmware is irrelevant because the main exploit used by unpatched consoles is based on the hardware. We determine if a console is patched or not by the serial number. You can compare its serial number to the list of ones in this thread. Even if it turns out to be patched, you can still use CFW on it as there is another exploit that works up to firmware 4.1 known as Deja Vu. However if it is patched, the SDXC update will update your console past firmware 4.1 which will lock you out of CFW for a long time. That being said, FAT32 is much better on the Switch than exFAT as exFAT can corrupt your SD card not to mention there are numerous workarounds for transferring files larger than 4 GB onto the console.
More noobness: how can I delete icons for games I don't use? I cleared my NAND before using emuMMC and have no use for all the unused icons. Using Atmosphere/Kosmos.
Press (+) on the icon and uninstall it from there.

I've followed the steps in the guide on the website switch.homebrew.guide and got up to backing up the nand and BIS keys. Nand backed up fine but Lockpick RCM keeps giving me an error. Any help please?

Are you using Atmosphere (or ReiNX)? Do you have sept already on your SD card?

If the answer is no to these questions, then you will receive the error you're getting.

Atmosphere. There's a folder "sept" on my sd card, inside is "payload.bak" "payload.bin" "sept-primary.bin" "sept-secondary.bin" and "sept-secondary.enc"

I recommend updating to the latest version of Atmosphere (0.9.2) if you haven't already done so. I also recommend removing the /sept/ folder from your SD card and replacing it with the one found in the 0.9.2 Atmosphere package before trying again.

Hi guys, I'm waiting for my SX OS Pro to arrive and I've been researching a lot of information about switch hacking however I still have some lingering questions, would really appreciate if anyone can help :)

My Switch current firmware is 5.0.2 and I have no intention to play online, ever. But I'm keeping my sysNAND as clean as possible. I'm going to backup it then create an emuNAND, update offline to 8.1.0 and keep it offline forever.

1. Could there be any problem or complication if I don't update sysNAND firmware? I guess not because i'm going to run everything on updated emuNAND correct?

2. My Switch has a linked nintendo account with lots of purchased games that I don't want to risk, so I'm going to unlink it before I do any hacking. I've read that some new games require a linked account to work, can I just create a fake account then? I'm aware there's a homebrew called Kefir that link accounts offline but since I haven't hacked anything yet wouldn't creating and linking a fake account be easier?

3. My save files prior to hacking will be useless since If I transfer them to emuNAND this could cause a ban right?

4. If so, isn't even easier to just factory reset my switch before I do anything?

5. About efuses, if I keep my sysNAND on 5.0.2 and just update emuNAND offline they will be intact correct? And is mandatory to use AutoRCM when I update with ChoiDujour?

6. If for any reason I mess up and need to restore my 5.0.2 sysNAND backup, that wouldn't burn fuses and would work no problem right?

7. About SD cards, I'm going to use Fat32, Is it too much of a hassle to split games above 4gb?

8. I need to partition the SD card to use SX OS emuNAND?

Sorry if those questions are noobish I just want to be sure what I'm doing.

Thanks in advance for the help!!

  1. The original purpose of emuNAND is to have an updated firmware without actually updating the firmware of the console
  2. You have more to lose than to gain by unlinking a Nintendo Account. Certain games require a linked Nintendo Account including but not limited to Pianista, Super Mario Maker 2, Bloodstained, Mortal Kombat 11, and Stardew Valley. Not to mention that account bans are extremely rare and are usually not related to hacking except for playing games online before they are released
  3. I'm not sure what part of this can institute a ban
  4. There is no point in factory resetting an unhacked console
  5. It is theoretically impossible to burn fuses if emuNAND is the only partition running a firmware higher than the fuse count. Because of this, AutoRCM is not needed unless sysNAND is the partition running a firmware higher than the fuse count because you cannot accidentally boot into emuNAND unlike sysNAND
  6. Fuses are only burnt when you boot up the console normally while running a firmware higher than the fuse count. A full list of firmware versions and their respective fuse counts can be found here
  7. While you can split files for FAT32, you can also use USB/network install for .NSP files larger than 4 GB. Unfortunately, .XCI files cannot afford such a luxury and must be split on FAT32
  8. SX OS handles the partitioning automatically

There are only two ways to preserve your fuse count:
  1. Don't update your sysNAND.
  2. Install AutoRCM before or during the system update and keep it installed.

I just read somewhere that updating OFW normally will remove AutoRCM? Then how do I install AutoRCM during the upgrade process? (Is there a guide for this?) Thanks!

That's correct. If you want to update your clean sysNAND for online play without burning fuses, you need to follow these steps:
  1. Install AutoRCM if you haven't already.
  2. Boot into Atmosphere on your sysNAND (doing this should keep your NAND clean if you do nothing else).
  3. Update in the system settings (with Atmosphere, AutoRCM will not be removed).
  4. Power off the system.
  5. Use Hekate to boot OFW sysNAND whenever you want to play online.
If you have a reliable jig, you could do a more risky method of updating without removing AutoRCM, but I don't recommend it since there's a decent chance you will accidentally burn fuses.

I tried tinfoil but dexterity fail. I didn't even power it on with the tinfoil in place because I couldn't fold it well.
I tried two different jigs neither worked.
I tried the wire method last, that worked. I used the middle screw for ground. I used a constantan 22 awg stranded if anyone cares. It was still a bit difficult but it worked. Would it be better to use a solid wire?

I am using a C-to-C cable and Rekado:
Add fusee-test.bin payload to Rekado
Remove USB cable from Switch, plug it into phone
Turn on Switch RCM:
1) insert the wire
2) Hold vol up and keep holding it
3) Push power, then release it
3a) Make sure it didn't turn on. If it did, try again.
4) Plug in USB to switch
5) Give permission for USB access (I didn't quite understand this screen)
6) Select the fusee-test payload
7) Success message displays. You can let go of vol up at this point

So what do I do now?
I lost a rail screw, I'll have to order a replacement at some point.

Can you elaborate on this more? How do I do this? (What do I need to watch for?) I do have a jig to reliably get into RCM.

If you want to try the risky way, here are the steps. I don't recommend it unless you don't care if your fuses get burnt.
  1. Install AutoRCM if you haven't already.
  2. Boot into your sysNAND using Hekate's OFW option.
  3. Update in the system settings.
  4. Power off the system.
  5. Using your jig, boot into RCM. If this fails here and you accidentally boot into Horizon, your fuses will be burnt, and there's nothing you can do about it.
  6. Load Hekate and reinstall AutoRCM.
If your system version currently comports with the number of fuses you have (e.g. You're on 4.0.0 and you have 5 burnt fuses), you can skip Steps 1-2 and just boot into the system normally.

can i have more than two partitions? i was thinking about having a regular one, emummc, lakka and android when it comes out. can that all work on one sd card? which of these allow rebooting to another without having a payload?

Asking here as this may be a noob or silly question.
I was recently banned, So i decided to wipe the switch and start from fresh. Great move so much more space.
But i get an annoying pop-up in various games about Signing into my Nintendo account / Linking my account. As am banned i cannot do this, I was never prompted before hand as my account was linked even though it wouldn't access the online services.

So am wondering is there any mod or change i can do, to spoof the switch to think the account is linked...

and can you remove the update nag?
