Incognito

incognito
Wipes personal information from your Nintendo Switch by removing it from prodinfo.

purpose
a) So your switch can go online without worrying about a ban or using random dogdy DNS servers that are also likely to get you banned.

b) so malicious homebrew applications cannot steal your personal certificate.

disclaimer
Always have a nand backup. I am not responsible for any bricks or bans. Use at your own risk, experimental.

This application backs up your prodinfo to the SD root, you should keep this backup in a more secure location, and not leave it on the SD card where malicious applications can read it.

edit: atmosphere blocks writes to CAL0, so you must use ReiNX or SX OS to install this. Once installed, you can switch back to atmosphere.

Guys, just realised I’ve made a mistake and for the past 3 days I thought Incognito was doing its job, but it wasn’t (still had my serial on my emuNAND).

I’ve now fixed it, but for the past 3 days I’ve been “unprotected”.
All I’ve used is homebrews, no games (not even once)

What do you reckon , I’m screwed already? Or is there a chance that I might have dodged the ban this time?

If you have NSP games installed, you are probably screwed.

Quick question, if run under SX os emunand, does it only affect the prodinfo of the emunand and not the sysnand?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

No, I wasn’t aware you needed to use the fusee Payload rather than hekate, so I was under the assumption I had done everything right. I’m super new to the switch modding scene
If you try using incognito when it doesn't have the permission to right to prodino it gives an error right ? or does it just not say anything ?
Personally I use both incognito and 90DNS at the same time on my emuMMC since there is no downside to having both as far as I know. (There is probably no upside either haha !)

If only people had found my Atmosphere-only tutorial sooner. I fucked myself in my old tutorial by not rebooting right away. That's what caused me to get banned.

Why is it that so many replies to this topic got deleted on the first few pages? It was really hard to follow the conversation since some question got answered and then deleted ...

Just to let you guys know, it seems (I only wrote it seems!) that Incognito wasn't able to prevent a super ban!
Here's what happened:
  1. I took a friend's Switch that was never connected to the internet at all!
  2. This friend had NSPs installed and used CFW for quite some time without having a clean NAND backup. That's exactly what Incognito should help with if I'm not wrong?
  3. I created an emuNAND (which boots just fine).
  4. Then I did a factory reset on the sysNAND and used Incognito to remove all tracks from prodinfo.
  5. Then he went online with that "clean" sysNAND and got super banned.

Factory reset doesn't clear logs, there's a procedure explained somewhere to make a new nand with Choidujour if you want a genuinely clean one. Are you saying you used incognito on sysnand, because then how would online work?

Incognito isn't intended to make a dirty nand clean, it's meant to stop communication with Nintendo's servers.

Factory reset doesn't clear logs
I know this far. That's why I thought Incognito would clean them but after reading your post and reading OP again it makes sense.
So Incognito alters the prodinfo in a way that the Switch can't communicate with Nintendo (which is bad if you want to play online) but that also gives us hope, that the Switch is not banned yet (since it didn't communicate with Ninty) and the error codes are only appearing because it can't access the eShop and so on, correct?
At least I created a NAND backup (he was on 8.1.0 when he gave me his Switch).
So what would be the steps right now?
Incognito has an undo function, right? At least it created a backup of the prodinfo iirc.
Would I have to "re-activate" the prodinfo backup? If yes, how?

Factory reset doesn't clear logs, there's a procedure explained somewhere to make a new nand with Choidujour if you want a genuinely clean one.
Ah, that specific downgrade tutorial. I remember seeing it as well. Unfortunately ChoiDujour is a pain (compared to ChoiDujourNX) but we should be thankful that it even exists. Hopefully that'll help and it's not too late already. Thx.
