A crazy idea regarding playing pirated games online that will almost certainly never happen.
There are numerous people that claim if you use SX OS and only play online using "legit" backups that were made from your own cartridges (basically, with your own private certs) you won't get banned. This isn't perfectly true based on what some other people have said, but it's a possibility. If a CFW like Atmosphere, which tries to prevent as much telemetry data from being sent as possible, were to get XCI-loading capability, perhaps a third party could create a sharing "piracy service."
Want access to the service? You have to donate a unique "private cert." The private certs are stored along with their corresponding games on a server online. A custom loader could be made, that temporarily "checks out" a private cert from the server, and injects it in an XCI on-the-fly on the user's device (never modifies the stored XCI, only injects the cert in memory). When the game is done being played, it gets "checked back in." Basically, it's like a library, but instead of books it's Switch games, and it's online. No two people on the service are ever given the same cert simultaneously.
I imagine this would work kind of similar to the "Cobra Blackfin" device that was released for Vita, but as a software solution.
I'm sure there are more logistics that have to be ironed out, but I think this could be possible. Not that I'd ever risk using such a system if it ever came out, I keep all my CFW usage restricted to emuMMC now and enjoy playing online without CFW on sysnand.
