You can use a nds lite or dsi/dsi xl to flash ntrboot to a compatible flashcard. And btw...
Ntrboot works even with a broken ds mode.

I don't know what you're talking about. Ntrboot is a method for all firmwares and all 3ds models to install a cfw. This has nothing to do with a broken ds mode. And his real question was whether the above card is compatible with it. However, the ds mode is broken on his 3DS. But you can either use a ds lite or dsi/dsi xl to install the exploit on the card. Or he buys the r4i gold 3ds plus, which has an internal switch to switch between the two modes (ds and ntrboot). Because there is no need to install ntrboot manually.
No, a broken DS(i) mode won't let you flash that cart in ntrboot. You have to borrow another (2/3)DS(i)(XL/lite) that can put it in ntrboot state before hacking your system.

Had you listened to our recommendation about getting the R4i Gold 3DS Plus, you would have been able to hack yours even with broken DS(i) functionality. It has a switch to change between ntrboot and DS modes that makes hacking easier.
If you couldn't afford the R4i Gold 3DS Plus, the next acceptable option is the R4iSDHC series. This is only recommended when someone's too broke or has cost of living where $/€ 20 is too much to spend.
If you're going to get a shitty flashcart, you might as well buy the cheapest one out there. I also warned you about requiring a system that can flash ntrboot on it and to watch out for the time bomb.
