Hi, quick question:

I recently purchased a switch and realized it's patched :/
It's running firmware 5.1.0 right now and from what I can tell there might be some hope for an exploit in the future. As a result, I'm refraining from updating it.
The problem is that I was trying to play Mario Kart today and it isn't letting me play the game without a system update. Is there any way to play the game without an update? I've looked around everywhere on the internet for answers but all the posts about this are over a year old and none of the described methods work.

Thanks!
You are honestly better off returning that console and getting an unpatched one. It may take months for the 5.X exploit to be released.

Hi, sorry if this is the wrong place to ask,
I am planning on using the official dock internals to make a custom dock, but I want to be able to switch between docked and charging mode. The simplest way I can think of, would be to have some sort of Y-split cable on each end that can bypass the dock, with a on/off toggle that controls each one, or both (or if you can make it all-in-one, a bypass cable with a toggle). I can't seem to find anything like this, so any idea if something like this exists, or if there is a different (safe) way to toggle between display modes without having to change the cables each time?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there Switch experts. I am using my Switch on Atmosphere 6.2.0 for six months (or more) without a problem and I love it.

Six months ago my knowledge was good about these exploits and CFW tricks. But since then I just play games and games and games. And I didn't care about new improvements on exploits. I didn't do any new thing about CFWs or something. I still install my games via tinfoil and not Gold leaf. Even my hekate version is still the one that released six months ago. So I forgot most things about exploiting and tricks about CFWs.

But now I am slowly approaching to the games that requires 7.0.0 or newer version of FW and I have to be that "updated Switch player". Assuming there is no way to play newer games or new updates for old games on 6.2.0, I should go for newer version of FW. So what should I do first? I think I will have to update my Switch to 7.0.0 or 8.0.0 but I never did that before.

Is there any recommendation from you guys and can you guide me somehow. Is there a new tricks I should look for? For example I hear everywhere about "sept". What is a sept? I didn't do anything about that sept thing six months ago. But firstly, I think I should know how to update my Switch from CFW 6.2.0 to 8.0.0 (or 7.0.0? ...the version that you recommend.)

Thank you guys in advance.

Hi there,

i'm on OFW 8.1.0 (installed with ChoiDujourNX) and using the actual Kosmos package. I also downloaded Atmosphere 0.9.2 and have overwritten the Kosmos included one, to be sure its all latest stuff. Now i want to install a .xci file and get the message at lithium, that i need to delete Kosmos. On 8.0.1 i used the hekate J Version to prevent this, but its discontinued. How do i do this now? I'm new to this switch stuff... but i love it :-)

Thanks in advance

Edit: i'm stupid.. if you're doing it right, it works like a charm.

Hey guys. Play store clerk for me. I made photo./Here are specs. Should I buy?

If you type in switch serial number into google - you get this:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/switch-...he-first-post-before-asking-questions.481215/

If you want to know if your switch has been banned from going online - we are not clairvoyant.

Hate to support you. You go through life, letting others do the work for you.

"Hey guys - I want to buy something you bought" doesnt get you any Kudos, nor should it. Free online support isnt as free as you think. But you found the right thread.

Hello guys. Quick question.

Is it enough to download only the last update (upd files) for a game that I have?

Let's say I got zelda and I found update 1.2 and 1.3. Can I download and install 1.3 or I have to get 1.2 first?

TegraRCMSmash comes with a 32 and 64 bit version from this site. Have you tried both?

Use the homebrew application ChoiDujourNX to update your firmware without burning fuses. Fuses are designed to prevent you from downgrading. It prevents fuses from being burnt by enabling AutoRCM. AutoRCM is a type of brick in that it AUTOmatically boots your console into RCM as the name implies. This means without a way to send a payload, the console is bricked. However this can be advantageous in booting into RCM without the need for a jig. The reason it prevents fuses from being burnt is because the console's normal bootloader checks the fuse count with the current firmware version (think of the normal bootloader as the Nintendo logo you see during startup). Custom bootloaders bypass this fuse check. Custom bootloaders are also the ones that boot CFW such as Atmosphere or ReiNX. And the reason you may wish to downgrade is in case a better exploit is released on a lower firmware such as a hypothetical untethered coldboot hack. As for which firmware you should upgrade to, I recommend any of the 8.X firmware versions as 7.X has a nasty USB bug.

Sept is a payload that is required for booting firmware versions higher than 6.2. Free CFW come with this payload when you download them. The usage of sept results in an extra splash screen when booting up the console via CFW. Make sure you update your CFW before updating your firmware with ChoiDujourNX.

Hi, i have a little issue.
When i was in CFW6.1 install via USB and nxmtp were working great, but to install Mario Maker 2 I have to upgrade in 7x or higher (i do'nt why it's the only i can install it)
But in 7x-8x my Switch is not recognize by my computer, there is no sound when i plug in and nothing in the device manager

Do you know how to solve this ? It's pretty usefull i think

Thank you for explanation sir. I know and already using AutoRCM on 6.2.0.

So what I have to do is download the latest version of hekate ctaer, atmosphere and 8.1.0 OFW and then copy ChoiDujourNX and OFW files to related folders in SD Card and fire the process in ChoiDujourNX.

By saying "Update your CFW first" you mean copying the latest version of atmosphere files to the SD Card, right? Just like months ago, CFW installation is still the same? I'm just asking for make sure that I don't miss anything and prevent misunderstanding.

Okay, so what's the best way for me to set up my emunand? Here's some background info (and options!).
-My Switch is 4.1.0, RCM vulnerable
-I will be using RCM exploit instead of caffeine
-I will be using sysnand for online play and official games
-I will be using emunand for everything else

I have a virgin NAND backup for my Switch on 4.1.0. Here are my questions:
1. Is AutoRCM detectable by Nintendo (flag as ban)? Does Nintendo's bootloader remove AutoRCM?
2. Is it safe to load Sysnand (stock) through Hekate or will that result in a ban? Which leads into, should I be booting sysnand through Hekate or through Nintendo's bootloader?
3. Do I create my emunand with the 4.1.0 backup and update with ChoiDujourNX, or do I create my emunand with a new backup of 8.1.0 after linking my Nintendo account? (so those few games that require it will work)
4. Is there any reason to keep my efuse count low?

Fairly new to Switch hacking, I recently installed Atmosphere on 8.1.0 and I was wondering if there is anyway to autostart it in case my Switch dies?

I'm going away over the weekend and I wont have my PC with me to inject payload. Is there an easy guide to this?

Seeing as it's an RCM exploit, you need to inject the payload every time you power down and power up the console. You can keep it in sleep mode without having to re-inject a payload. But if your Switch battery dies completely, you will need to re-inject when you load it back up.

You can enable AutoRCM so it'll go into RCM mode every time it coldboots, which will prevent it from loading up HOS, but you still need to inject a payload. This can be achieved with a PC, Mac, Chromebook, iPhone, Android Phone, or dongle.
