Langrisser I & II will be getting an official English release in 2020

A remake of the first two Langrisser (or Warsong, depending on your region) titles will be headed west. NIS America will be localizing the game, which is set for a 2020 release on Nintendo Switch, Steam, and PlayStation 4. Langrisser is a strategy RPG, which released in the west for the Sega Genesis in 1991, with the sequel, Langrisser II, never getting an official English translation. This remake will feature new visuals, music, and voice acting, along with refined gameplay elements.

Langrisser I: The forces of darkness are descending upon the kingdom of Baldea. Take up your sword as Prince Ledin, and discover the evil that lies in the heart of the Dalsis empire.

Langrisser II: The forces of darkness once again threaten the realm. Thrust in between warring factions, it is up to our hero Elwin to navigate this war and determine which path will bring peace to this conflict.

Langrisser I & II is returning with both classic stories of good and evil now remade in beautiful high-definition visuals, reorchestrated music, and quality-of-life improvements to the gameplay and user experience that made these strategy RPGs truly legendary.

Key Features
  • A Blade Honed to Perfection – Experience two classic titles with new art, music, and presentation.
  • Modernizing a Timeless Tale – Perfectly re-tuned gameplay for a modern SRPG feel.
  • Langrisser and Alhazard – Two legendary swords, two legendary tales—brought back to life with new localization and a new character!

you would THINK they could get at enough lines written correctly to make a good trailer, but apparently not. It's Legacy of Heroes: Trials of Cold Steel 3 all over again.
Its a real wonder how their QA works, if there is even one in the first place.

At last a new Langrisser official release on english. I think the only two games with international releases were are the first one (under the title Warsong) and the Android last year.

Pardon my ignorance but I've got no idea about what this series is all about .
Might have to do some research on google beforehand asking any more question.
with that said however I'm an avid JRPG gamer and fan so perhaps this could be something worth checking out I guess:)

Is like Fire Emblem meet Advance Wars. If you enjoy Tactics RPG, be my guest. You can try Warsong (aka Langrisser 1) on SEGA Genesis (or an emulator + ROMS, Im not gonna judge you)

Tactics RPGs you say? I've got to play these Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor games which are tactics RPGs I quite enjoyed. Hopefully I'll take a liking to this langriser series as well.

I remember playing the original warsong. On the first mission, you get stomped by the empire. But after trial and error, I discovered you can actually win the first fight -- if you put in the time to learn the mechanics. Instantly loved the series after that.

Whatever you do, avoid the Majin Tensei games like the plague.

Never mind that.
can't be bothered to try those games out.

Yeah, they're the bottom of the barrel as far as SMT is concerned. Ronde, the final game in the franchise, is one of those games that you can tell is gonna suck from the intro and the 3D graphics alone!

Ronde is hands down the worst of the majin tensei series.
In a particular shitposting group I used to be in we would go on and on making jokes about said title and scoffing anyone even daring to mention it's name.

There's some mobile game for this series and the trailers for it have some pretty shitty translation too (or rather lack proofreading I guess).

So... a Shinning Force that doesn't suck or is too short? No wonder it became popular in the Sega Genesis era.
