Incognito

incognito
Wipes personal information from your Nintendo Switch by removing it from prodinfo.

purpose
a) So your switch can go online without worrying about a ban or using random dogdy DNS servers that are also likely to get you banned.

b) so malicious homebrew applications cannot steal your personal certificate.

disclaimer
Always have a nand backup. I am not responsible for any bricks or bans. Use at your own risk, experimental.

This application backs up your prodinfo to the SD root, you should keep this backup in a more secure location, and not leave it on the SD card where malicious applications can read it.

edit: atmosphere blocks writes to CAL0, so you must use ReiNX or SX OS to install this. Once installed, you can switch back to atmosphere.

this is the savior of emunand for me.... can confirm i used it in atmos 9.2 with the little post here that enables this to work without reinx and now i have 2 systems essentaly and they both work as they should. no ban and onlne on 1 but no nintendo access on the other... as long as i keep e xci hb and nsp on the emunand and only use them there i can use youtube the eshop and hulu along with carts on the real nand without ban.... hope tyhis helps many like it has me as b4 emunand from atmos io had sx os on another switch made there emunand and got bannned as i didnt implement incognito and was dumb maybe and used an xci on the wrong nand... this is a different switch.... and i learned my lesson.....

as far as that erlier post about reinx... the luck i had was findin g the post on here on how to do it with atmosphere
as i can confirm it only changed on my emunand as ia still have full access to the eshpop and such so my original prod info wasnt touched.... cause if it was i wouldnt be able to even go online i first checked for updates to test it np then the eshop also np then dloaded youtube hulu and strickly use it for those so i dont have to constantly look for patched versions and also real carts.....

So you can do this on Atmosphere 0.9.2 EmuMMC.

Initially you should have a clean NAND backup (i.e. Pre-hacks and CFW/Homebrew if you don't ...shame on you for skipping that step!). Save it in safe place(s).

Hack your switch as you see fit (I just used Kosmos). Once you are happy with things....(you can install games later I suppose).

Install Renix. I move the sept folder temporarily for atmosphere to sept_2 or whatever. Boot into Renix and run incognito. This makes a prodinfo backup - save this too (your NAND backup has this safe technically but never hurts to have this too!).

You should have your SDCard partitioned to Fat32 how you like it. I took a 256GB card and made two partitions. The first MasterBoot record at 221ish (named it EmuMMC) and 33GBish for 2nd partition Fat32 (named it NAND for my NAND cuz I am using 1 sdcard for Emunand and Nand...might not be smart but oh well for now I'm not going online yet...hehe). Don't use GPT - It doesn't work.

Now I rebooted in to Hekate 5.x and used their EmuMMC tool to create a Partition Based EmuMMC (cuz file based is slow as ballz). Here it should detect the partition and let you install it.

You should note in the EmuMMC mount (after it's done and you activate it), where you should have your Ninten folder for your previously installed games/saves/etc. I recommend using a Windows machine to copy these. My OSx and Linux machines struggled viewing both partitions. If you don't use Winblows - your results may vary...

Now boot into CFW with EmuMMC and tada. You have Incognito'd EmuMMC. If you are all set and happy - You should be able to restore your NAND backup to the Switch and have a "Clean" NAND for going online.

Having EmuMMC with Incognito enabled will let you go online safely (as far as we know) and use HomeBrew APP store and other online network features (ProFTPd, lan-mitm,etc).

Thank you for sharing Blawar!

NOTE 1 - You should NEVER boot into CFW with your NAND as it can leave traces of CFW modifications it would seem. If you accidentally do this...you should restore a NAND backup if you want to be as safe as possible. To avoid this pain in the arse - I use Hekate auto-boot for CFW w/ EmuNand. If I want to use NAND, I just turn it on as normal (vs going through RCM).

NOTE 2 - Some people suggest using a 2nd SDCard for your Clean NAND setup (not having any CFW/Homebrew files on the card)...This might be the safest way to go...who knows.

NOTE 3 - You may still get banned - we're not sure if this prevents the ban but it's certainly our best shot so far!

NOTE 4 - I heard a "Brazilian" cat was able to unban consoles. I would assume he likely takes this tool and restores the prodinfo from a non-banned key to a banned console. This would require another switch's keys...and I'm not sure if this works (haven't tested - just theory here)... I did read elsewhere that someone tried and it didn't work...perhaps there's another step (or more) that needs to be taken... At any rate - Love this :D

NOTE 5 - Would LOVE to see this as a default feature (optional if we must) in CFW like Atmosphere/Kosmos, Renix, etc. SXOS has stealth mode so I dunno what that does...but they may not need/want it...whatever.

Big thanks for this little post bro'.
Now, you have to make a well-staged-detailed tuto-thread with this:!:

I was using 90dns then I switched over to this. My question is can I play games like Diablo 3 or Smash while still connected to wi-fi? Or should I go airplane mode for those games?

No you don't need to. That would be the equivalent of putting on a condom after performing a vasectomy...if vasectomies were reversible.

Question, I recently set up emuMMC on my Switch with Atmosphere. It's offline, and works great.

I want to be able to put my Switch emuMMC online to use tools like the homebrew appstore and retroarch online. The problem is that currently my profile is linked to a NNID. My understanding is that incognito will stop Nintendo from being able to identify my Switch, which prevents my Switch from getting banned, but since my profile is linked to an NNID wouldn't they be able to ban that? And then worse, since my Switch is the only one associated with that NNID, couldn't they still ban my sysnand through that?

Would it be worth the time and effort to delete any NNID-linked profiles from emuMMC and make new ones?

I think Incognito removes your console's ability to communicate your NNID to Nintendo's servers. But I may be wrong.

Just wondering, did you ever find the answer to this?

I’am planning to use this on my emunand, i only got two questions.

1. If i remove the prodinfo from my emunand will it still be on my original sysnand so i can play online?

2. Because some games need a linked nintendo account will i still have my linked nintendo accound on my emunand after this?

Thank you for the guide! I have one question: once having EmuMMC set up, how do you restore the clean NAND backup? Does Hekate give the option to restore it in the SysNand?
