A new Hatsune Miku game has been announced for the Nintendo Switch

A new Hatsune Miku game is on the way, as revealed by SEGA today. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Mega39's will be coming to the Nintendo Switch next year, in Japan. A short trailer gives further information, such as the fact that there will be 101 total songs in the game, and that there will be over 300 costumes to outfit the characters in. A handful of brand new game modes have been developed for the Switch, which will be unveiled at a later date. For those that do not have a Nintendo Switch, you'll still be able to play the new songs from Mega39's in the previous Project Diva title on, Future Tone--a PlayStation 4 game--as a DLC pack including those songs will be available on the Japanese PlayStation Store shortly after the launch of Mega39's.

what is hatsune miku? what kind of game is it?
It is a Rythm game, the same genre as elite beat agents, parappa the rapper, guitar hero, etc. Different implementation.

Hatsune Miku is a trade mark and mascot of Crypton, as well as a Vocaloid voice bank (i.e. artificial voice musical instrument); also a "virtual idol" character used by many independent musicians to create music. Perhaps.

That's good to hear. I'm definitely picking this up, I'm just not a fan of the Switch's button layout or lack of a d-pad.

Believe me, you should get a pro controller, it feels great (I have DS4 and XBONE Controllers, and PRO wins for various reasons), improves your gameplay A LOT compared to the joycons attached to the the handle.

The PRO is good, the XBONE controller is also good, and the PS4's DS4 also has some advantages.

I would say that to my preference XBONE controller > PRO controller > DS4.
Then I would go about the following:

XBONE standard white controller:
- Best ergonomics
- Best analog triggers
- Very good dpad
- Good analog sticks
- Great battery life

PRO:
- Very good ergonomics
- Worst analog triggers /s
- Worst dpad
- Great (best?) analog sticks
- Best battery life

DS4:
- Good ergonomics
- Good analog triggers
- Best dpad
- Good analog sticks
- Worst battery life (WTF?)

That said, and after a long enough off topic:
- For sure playing with a PRO controller improves gameplay a lot compared to the joy cons, it's like day and night.

I have the pro controller and I don't like it. The main reason I got it was its dpad. I don't like how easy it is to push the entire dpad in. It made playing Hollow Knight feel imprecise. I ended getting a magic ns adapter and using a DS4, which is probably what I'll do for this game.
The pro controller is definitely very comfortable and has unbelievable battery life, but its crappy dpad, lack of actual triggers, no headphone jack ( a particularly important feature for project diva games), asymmetrical layout (this is up to preference), and ridiculous pricetag make it a worse controller than the DS4 in my eyes.
Honestly, the joycons might be better for this particular game. I can't see myself playing on extreme with the pro's dpad.
