Long time. No Post. My return is a plea for help.

So years ago I was a regular here and my Wii is hacked to all hell. I have some kind of custom MIOS for Gamecube USB loading though I can't remember the name as well as WiiFlow and the Homebrew Channel installed. Earlier today my Wii was happily running a Gamecube disc, now no GC disc works and GC usb loading has stopped working. I'm running Wii System 4.3E.

Can anybody lend me a hand? Maybe tell me a way to generate a report of what's on my Wii so I can help you help me? Maybe help me figure out how to get it up to the highest firmware version and USB Loader versions for stability?

I ran a SysCheck program I had on my Homebrew Channel and I believe it said MIOSv10...

Thanks for the help in advance... Excuse the cringy sig+avatar as I say its been half a decade since I was last here...

Hello and welcome back.:)

The sysCheck is a very good idea, please refer to that guide to post it here:

If you are on the Homebrew Channel you can look on which version your USBLoader is (on the Screen before the USBLoader boots).

Thank you.:)

You were probably using DIOS MIOS if loading from USB.

First I would suggest making a bootmii backup in case something happens while trying to fix it.

Did you change anything prior to it breaking?

I wasn't around when it stopped working. Report from my girlfriend is that she was trying to play Windwaker, first time it loaded it worked fine. 2nd time it just black screened.

I managed to download the vanilla MIOS file from ModMii and install it using YAWM which gave me back my retail discs. I've also installed the latest Wiiflow and Nintendont now to restore my Gamecube USB loading.

Thanks for the tip about the cIOS versions. Is there any way I can upgrade my actual firmware version? At the moment I have to use Wiiflow to launch one of my Wii discs to skip the firmware check.

Your Wii System software (4.3E) is on the latest Build.:)

Did you have PRIILOADER installed ? It is aimple Brick protection. With that you can change a little System settings including prevent Update checks.

I am glad to hear that your issues are gone and now all works.:yay:

Well ermm truth is that I've now tried to install the recommended USB loader updates you gave and now Wii USB loading is borked...

I've updated Priiloader and installed a couple of the hacks to help me out as well.
