Hello i try to play pokemon X on citra emulateur with the update 1.5 but it is not in 3ds file its in cia file so i try to convert it but i have the messsage : couldn't read the exheader file;
Why convert it when you could install it on Citra. It's a CIA and the emulator have a CIA Install feature. Do that and enjoy playing.

But if it doesn't run or not even booting, make sure you have your NAND dumped(if you pirate, don't say it).

You should release this mod to the public on Gamebanana or here in GBATemp.

Couple questions about this.

First off, I read that there's side-by-side 3D effects that make it so that you can use a headset to view the game in 3D. That seems like it would be amazing with the game's internal resolution bumped up. Thing is, does it only work with games that had built-in 3D functionality? I mean, I remember reading that some of the Pokemon games didn't have 3D available because it would have been too much for the 3DS or something. Could I possibly force 3D in those situations?

Second question, focused on Pokemon again. I also read that the game had a really bad frame rate. Since a PC is obviously more powerful than a 3DS, is it possible to use the emulator to boost the frame rate higher without just increasing the game speed?

1. I think that's possible to force 3D things and you can see the pokemon world in 3D by looking left and right. Look at this Boundary Break episode of Pokemon X/Y:

Not only that, but there might be models or polygons that appear/disappear out of camera and buildings in ORAS, like in XY, don't have back walls(I checked its model).

2. Changing the game's max frame from 30 to 60 is likely not possible. What you see videos that goes 60FPS but it's 30FPS in-game are video edits that makes the game going to 60FPS(You can hardly tell by adding motion blur).

Has anyone else encountered the issue? Running SSB3DS with all updates on Citra, choosing the stadium modes (yeah, only this mode) with any character (not only the DLC ones) would result a black screen.

Probably will do that. But it needs more work. Discord is better place to work on things as you can live chat about work rather than post forum posts which takes more space that text itself.

Status update:
- UI 95% done
- All villages and Environments 100% done
- Armors 100% done
- weapon coming
- monsters are still stuff no one works on

we also got new member who works on UI to make it look better.

Sure. Discord is great. But the problem with Discord is its 8mb limitation when posting files and not many afford a Nitro. Second, not many prefer Discord to share mods privately even if you share the permma-invite link to everyone.

I could be wrong here, but I think that what Perkel tried to say is that the texture pack is still being worked on and Discord is used mainly as work environment for the persons that are working on the texture pack.
They're not releasing the texture pack on Discord and restricting it there, the texture pack is just not ready to be formally posted in a place like GBATemp yet.

Discord itself work like i said as working place. Discord upload limit is pointless because we use google drive. Basically you go from discord into google drive folder.

Reason why i am not keen on sharing direct links is that those links will be dead sooner or later because while we work on stuff we change stuff. With discord everyone knows how to get pack from #releases.

Either way.

Hi! I have a very quick question about the tutorial to compile Citra with MSys2 that is linked in the wiki.

The article there tells the user to download some specific packages using MSys2's Pacman.
Are most of those packages not available in the copy of MSys2 that devkitPro comes with, by any chance?
I'm asking because that's the copy I already had installed because reasons, but if I try to get the packages specified there, I get an error telling me that certain packages couldn't be found.

If I try to use pacman -Sl to get a list of the packages available, these are the only mingw related ones that pop up.

With that being said, I wanted to ask: Is the tutorial outdated, or maybe I just need to get MSys2 from its official website specifically?

I'm not so sure if I should ask this here, but Citra's Official Forums seem to be flooded with questions about running games, so it didn't feel like the appropriate place to ask something like this.
If I end up not getting any help here, I'll probably take this question there though.
Thanks in advance for reading!

Is there any way to edit the path that Citra installs games to? It installs to my appdata folder by default, but I want to change it to my hard drive. I couldn't find any setting that changes it a settings file to edit. o.O

There isn't a setting to manage that. The contents of the .cia files that you install within Citra go to %appdata%\Citra by default.
The only other option that Citra gives you, is to take all the folders found there (i.e. folders like config, log, sysdata, etc), put them inside a folder called "user", and then put that user folder inside your Citra folder.
You can then store your folder with Citra wherever you want and use Citra normally, in a more portable way.

What would cause a Game to drop to 0 FPS when it attempts to check Online? Urban Trial Freestyle has no Issue. But UTF2 does this. It starts working, then you tap the screen to continue.......then it drops from 30 FPS to 0 and stays there.

It looks like UTF has had that issue back in March 2016. If it's not trying to connect to Nintendo's servers which is something that Citra can't do (as far as I know), it might be an issue worth reporting in Citra's GitHub Repository.

Well, UTF1 does not have that problem. It goes to Connect, then you can get past it. But UTF2 just dies.

UTF did have that problem all the way back in 2016 though.
Besides, just because UTF2 is a sequel that doesn't guarantee it will work flawlessly like UTF1 (the Pokémon Games are a clear proof of that, with XY being unplayable for a long period of time while newer games like ORAS or SM were very playable.), specially if netplay code related stuff was changed.

Hey all. This will be my first time trying to use an emulator, I sold my 3DS away few months back and now I feel like playing fire emblem again.

I read the FAQ that you will require a 3DS device to patch or something. Is it true? Cause I don't hAve the devices anymore. I just wanna play the games on PC.

Also I used to use cheat codes in my 3DS, can I do that with the emulator?

Thank you.

You do need a 3DS in order to dump your games, or to acquire certain system files like AES Keys to boot up Encrypted 3DS ROMs on Citra correctly, or to obtain certain system archives to run games like Pokémon correctly.
All the answers and instructions you're looking for can be found in the FAQ at Citra's Website.
Of course, you can always pirate, but you're on your own if you decide to do that.

Hello,
I have installed Homebrew launcher on my 3DS, and it works fine, however I don't know which app/emulator should I use for .3ds files

Can someone recommend any?

Thank you

EDIT: I tried with cia and fbi files, but once I start FBI from homebrew launcher, I get a red screen. I probably need CFW, but if there's any easier way, let me know.
