Go right ahead. I did the whole script. It's not great, but it's something.

I cannot figure out the hacking and gave up.

It doesn't look that hard but I tried it and it doesn't work. I'm missing something and I know not what.

Sorry for the lack of posting/information, I'd like to say that as of right now there is no active team with me, this is the reason I haven't been able to push this project any further.

I am interested in continuing this project but I myself don't have the skills needed to get it going again.

The biggest thing right now would be to find a way to insert the translation back into the game. With the tools we had at the time any attempt to do so would break the game.

As far as I know we might need someone who knows assembly? But don't quote me on that, I just know it was needed for different things. If anyone is interested in helping with this project though please contact me and we can try to get the ball rolling again. I'd love to see this project to the end, I know we'd all love to have the chance to play this game properly.

Even if you can't get a team member, putting the raw translation in someplace like romhacking.org (or other accessible and high visibility site for translations) will ensure it will eventually speedup a actual hack.

Even if the script can't be used directly (because of embedded screen commands) just having a script to correlate to the original Japanese makes it likely it will speed up a patch when someone that can do the hacking starts it.

Hey is there no one working on this right now ? I have the raw ISO and downloaded omarrio's tool and the excel translation, I don't know where to find BIN files he is talking about do I have to extract the ISO or something ? if so what are the programs needed

At the moment, not really. Currently just trying to find someone who's able to help with making new tools. No matter what tools you use the game will refuse to boot with the translation in full.

hi yall i literally just made an account to say PLEASE dont give up on this!! id LOVE to be able to play this game in english, im so excited for the 4th game to finally be coming out soon and maybe one day well be able to play that one too! thank you for your efforts!!!

Sadly this project is no longer working, maybe I will try to hack it when I finish my project.

So it's been years, if you still have the translation, can you release an xdelta of what was done? At least it won't be lost forever. Please consider.

I am sorry I haven't been able to take this project where it needs to go, reading that link did give some information I was unaware of but people need to remember, I have little knowledge of psp games and how to modify them.

For me to get this far was amazing in of itself as I was just a fan like anyone else, and without those who helped me it would have still been stuck where it was before.

Once again I'd love to see this project finished, though be aware that Disaster Report 4 is now releasing in NA and that could eventually lead to 3 getting re-released at some point w/ an English release also.

Never would've guessed that the same half-decade old link would be up still and lead to the most up-to-date script! This should be fine occasion to replay the game not raw this time around.

I know LunaMoo sure makes it look easy coming up with workarounds for the text insertion, even if in hindsight they may seem like a common romhacking sense, don't be disheartened.
From my perspective, the work done on this project is terrific and the actual translation shaped up to be quite alright. I'm truly infinitely grateful.

About the mentioned topic, I honestly don't believe Granzella cares about their old games at all for them to be brought back to life and to be published in the west to boot. I'd gladly eat my words if nu-Irem will prove me wrong for thinking so.

I am excited to know that there are people that enjoyed the games as much as i did, the first two games were all i played on ps2 aside from finl fantasy and sims. i really hope you guys can find someone to help finsh off and release it. i dont know too much about these things really all im good at is following download instructions, and sometimes i still mess that up. also the english release is coming soon for the 4th disaster report, as of to my recent knowledge itll be out by march of next year, and many websites already have the limited edition and standard editions for download.
