I hope, we can have an update version of the save file. Now are at 1.6v with shang tsung. This game is great but it sucks that everything is locked. Me personaly, i dont care about online, but ill love to choose my intros, gears, etc...
Alex save still works with 1.0.6
He found a method to restore the save with all the unlocks but you need to fulfill this requierements:
- SX OS (dont know if it works with another cfw)
- You must have a Nintendo Network account linked to the console.
- Wifi activated, with stealth mode ON and no DNS blocks (automatic config)
- Plane mode OFF
You restore the save with Checkpoint and start the game normally.
Then you go to the character customization and let the game try to check online the progress. It will show a message saying it wont save any ´progress, press A to accept.
Everything will be unlocked as it was in 1.0.4
If you try customization without online, or with airplane mode ON it will delete everything

Yes, you need an internet connection setted up on your switch without using any blocking dns. If you dont know what those are, nevermind probably you arent using them anyway.
Airplane mode must be off in the console. You can still use stealth mode im the Sx OS options.
You can play normally and everything will remain unlocked but If you enter "customization" without doing this the save will reset and you will lost most of the skins.

I did everything according to the instructions. I have FW 8.1.0, SXOS 2.8, MK 1.0.6 with 17 dlc.
Yesterday I installed the game, installed an update, threw Alex's save into the checkpoint and restored it.
I turned "stealth mode" ON, connected to the Wi-Fi and started the game.
First, when connecting, it gives an error and does not enter the crypt - but this is probably normal, I think.
But! In case of the cost-setting of characters, they are far from being everything. Someone quite a bit, for someone else 10 costumes from 30-60.
Did I do something wrong or the save is far from complete?
How to open all the gear at 100%? or not yet?

You are missing something.
This save has around 30 skins unlocked for each character.
It shows around 10 when you did something wrong.
I never used crypt, so maybe that is. Or maybe you missed a requirement.
Do you have a Nintendo account linked in your console?

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
