The Steam Summer Sale 2019 has begun

Ready to throw tons of money at your monitor? Because yes indeed, it's that time again; the annual Steam Summer Sale has arrived. Starting today and running until July 9th, PC game prices will be slashed, as is tradition. There's some good deals if you've been waiting for a specific game: Yakuza 0 is $9.99, Valkyria Chronicles 4 will only set you back $20.39, and this year's major hit, Devil May Cry V is already down to $39.59. There also appears to be a theme to this year's event, as usual, with "Steam Grand Prix" being the motif, likely offering trading cards and emoticons. Go check Steam's homepage to see what's for sale, or at least, if you can manage to load the site during the initial rush.

If your wallet happens to fall victim to the Summer Sale, let us know what you got!

I sometimes wonder what the sales numbers are on steam items when they're not on sale or near their release date. At this point, it's pretty normal to expect nearly everything to drop in price for some days every season.

This is the fabled steam sales?

These are far inferior to what sony had.
There are like, what, only 30 games on sale? lol.
Erm...they actually have thousands of games on sale. No clue where you come up with 'only 30 games'...

"thousands" in big quotation marks.

games that matter are not even hitting 30 (games that were 1 euro are now 50 cent is not a sale, it is garbage, there is a reason it is only 1 euro lol), and some "sales" are regular prices elsewhere. DMC V is more expensive in this "sale" than on any other site or store for example.

It is a big joke, that is for sure.

Meh... Steam sales aren't what used to be. Now I'm really waiting for "Nuuvem" winter sales. :-)

It's the refund policy. Before they used to have "flash sales" and daily sales and such where specific games would get great deals but only for a few hours or days. With the refund policy, people would now refund any games they bought before they went on flash sale, so now Valve just discounts everything a little bit for the whole time.

Oh, you're of the opinion that stream has only 30 games? That's cute. It's also factual wrong, but ey... Whatever floats your boat. :)

And no, I'm not blind to developers raising prices just before sales or flat out demanding more for their games than they're worth. I don't like that either. But I see those as the exception rather than the rule.

I do get some when I have money available and there's something I like but otherwise probably not getting anything. I do like this sale though and all other Steam sales.

Apparently there's some glitch with the discount coupons and obtaining them with points with starbound + a soda workshop mod + steam objectives for points. It seems to be garbage though unless I'm missing something as I was capped quite quickly from games I've already played giving me points before bothering to do any random crap.
I mean a coupons a coupon so thanks steam, but I'm too lazy to play a bunch of games for some steam points
