MLgTdsV.png

The time has finally arrived! You've asked for it, and now we're delivering. As of today, GBAtemp is opening a RedBubble shop, in order to sell fun things with our lovely mascot Tempy on it. From shirts, to mugs, and even stickers, there's a whole ton of cool things to buy. We've got six designs to choose from: Retro Tempy, V2 Tempy, V3 Tempy in light or dark theme, and the most recent modern Tempy, with and without text. The fun thing about RedBubble, is that they've got shipment facilities all over the world, meaning shipping costs shouldn't be too high regardless if you're from the United States, Europe, Canada, or even Australia.

If you're interested, here are a few of the shirts and other products that are available to purchase:

For our more creative and artsy users, we'll be holding a shirt design contest soon! So stay tuned for that thread! :yay:

@Scarlet

Yes, takes me right to the retro page !!
Request...can you also direct link the other designs here as well ?
Which link were you clicking on the OP? The one from the hyperlinked sentence (that makes mention of the discount) or the GBATemp store link at the very bottom of the post?
If it's the former, then yeah it's not just you. It happened to me as well (and shortly after shows the referral discount), though I'm not sure if that's intentional or not. The other link does work properly though.

Ooh ooh! I think a shirt with the shaunj66 cartoon Tempy would be pretty neat.
Yes this! A cute design would be Shaun's tempy holding a Switch and playing with it, with his fingers flying, and with a look of concentration and his tongue sticking out the side of his mouth. The Switch's screen would be glowing and shining on his face.

That's good to know. I was a bit skeptical about the quality back then (and their prices), so I never bought anything. Did the design itself print out fine? Because I recall that their designs used to be printed in CMYK instead of RGB and that would sometimes lead to darker/paler colors than what they actually are (more so if the design itself was RGB to begin with).

Pardon the creases and rumples--I grabbed it right out of my suitcase for the pictures. For these designs, I used a different Tempy--slightly lower quality. The ones available now are high-quality PSD and SVG files from Shaun and Jumpman17, so they should be even better. Regardless of my kinda macgyver'd Tempy image, it still looks great, imo. I ordered the slim-fit shirt in medium (sleeves are shorter than a male's shirt would be, if you're concerned about that), but it was a bit too big. Still fits well enough, and while I got the thinner type of material--I prefer that style--it's very comfortable. Of course, it comes down to preference, but honestly, I love both the quality and how the image turned out.

I'm actually wondering where are the: beanies, fitted hats (snap-back if you must), pins, mouse pads, body/pillows, and bath robes?

Also wondering Zip-up hoodies with old tempy?

Unfortunately, Redbubble doesn't offer any sort of hats/beanies, pins, mouse pads, nor bath robes atm.
GBATemp only provides the graphic design, while Redbubble themselves are the ones who make and offer the products.

The site does offer hoodies and pillows (throw pillows and floor pillows), though I don't believe that any of the current Tempy items have those kinds of products enabled for sale.
As for the hoodie idea you posted, it sounds neat and can technically be done through Redbubble's upload editor to a degree, minus the drawstrings that is. All hoodie drawstrings on that site are the same color as the main fabric.

I do wonder how that would look like.

Run a design contest.
By members, for members, and those who'll be members soon™
I'd say start the contest early (beginning of July), run it till the end of July, so there's time for production, shipping, etc,.

I think it'd be fun--three winners (three blanket sizes, unless one blanket size works better) could get a blanket, a mug, and a custom tempy Christmas hat......or, they could have another option: give the prize as a gift to another member and receive 1225 XP.

Something a bit more subtle like the tempy logo above the right breast would be nice too, maybe with the URL.
Does this work?

As far as blankets go, it's very do-able, but you need quite a large pattern. 7000x5000px or something. I can sketch, sort of, but that's where my artsy talent ends. If enough people take interest in these shirts, there will certainly be a competition, and I know there's a lot of very amazing artists, who could come up with amazing shirt designs, which I'm sure could extend to blankets as well.

Somewhere around October would probably work fine, imo. If anything, I feel like it might still take place during December/January since that's always been when the holiday contests occur.

That looks nice. I feel like a similar layout to the one the forum/site banner uses could work pretty well too.

Actually, as I mentioned in the thread earlier, you don't need an extremely large pattern/design to be able to make blankets. You could just tile something smaller and scale it up or down with the upload editor. Of course, if the design's already big enough in the first place, then there's more that can be done with it. (It could also be used for other merch too, such as the upcoming shower curtains and bath mats options Redbubble plans to add soon.) Here's an example of that feature with a really old fan art design of mine (from around 2014-2015, haha).

If a competition eventually occurs, I'll be looking forward to it.
