Well, I haven't been here in a while.

My friend's New Nintendo 2DS XL has been crashing a lot recently. We haven't really done much with homebrew wise except install a couple of cias.

Usually, the splash screen plays but then gets stuck on the black screen afterward.

Sometimes, it DOES make it to the home menu, but not before giving an "An Exception Occurred" error.

This can happen during play sessions, staying in the menu for more than a minute, or at complete random.

So far, I've tried formatting the SD card, following the CTRTransfer guide on 3ds.guide, delete some of the extdata in the 000000f folder, and removing the SD card and inserting it back in. None of these have worked.

Help? I'm sorry if I look like an absolute idiot right now. I'm not very experienced with this.

Have you looked into the Troubleshooting section of 3ds.guide?

I saw you formatted your SD card. Is it in FAT32, and have been tested with H2testw?

Edit: What is the version of Luma you're using?
I did go to the troubleshooting section, but I only followed the "clear home menu extdata" section. I wasn't even aware that had sections on black screens, so I'll follow those.

My SD is FAT32, but has not been tested.

I believe I updated Luma to the latest version, but I'm not completely sure.

Press SELECT on boot to see Luma's version
9.1.

The guide didn't really work. I tried removing the SD card, but it didn't do anything. I tried restoring an earlier nand.bin, but now it only pops up arm11 errors before it can get to the home screen. :(
