If you choose to stick with SX OS, you'll only ever get this kind of feature if TX add it themselves, so start pestering them. If you were to switch to another cfw (protip: go with atmosphere) then you can run whatever custom sysmodules you want.
Unfortunately as @hippy dave said. If you go with SX, you're locked with in the SXOS. They will probably "port" one of the homemenu replacements once they're finished and most likely music will be able to be played then.
