To start off all the posts here and on reddit I have found that are similar and not exactly the same or I have not found information in them that can help me. So the short version of the story is I hacked my switch a while ago it was on firmware 6.x recenly I was playing around with the idea of updating it so I used the tool (cant remember the name off the top of my head) that lets you update without burning fuses cause i know enough to know thats bad. After some weirdness and troubleshooting that was mostly my fault I THINK i had got it all working the way I wanted on 8.0.1. Horray! Then someone hit the update software button not the start game button (I think) and updated to to 8.1.0 most likely burning fuses and all that badness. I have not been able to boot anything but Hekate since then cfw shows the boot screens then goes black and stock just says black screen 100% of the time. Here is where I think I may have really screwed up I had heard that if you have a backup you can fix anything so I restored by backup. But did restoring my 6.x backup break things cause of fuses? Even today with the new version of atmosphere for 8.1.0 there is no change i can only boot hekate nothing else works.

Have you tried to launch the updated atmosphere "fusee-primary.bin" from hekate?
I have now with hekate 4.10.1 and an older version I still have just for kicks. TO make sure i did it right I put the bin in the bootloader>payloads folder cause thats where it seemed like it was expected to be. Same results after the 3 atmosphere boot screens the screen just goes black the end.

Mh i think that you can upgrade, but i do not assume any responsability, i'm not an expert, but i just think that everything will go right. I don't see any "problems" updating the switch
@Milkaline yes i could acess RCM but the switch didnt want to boot even after injecting a payload , i used ChoiDujourNX to downgrade from 8.1.0 to 7.0.0 and it got bricked all i could do is acess hekate , i barely got it to boot after manually downgrading it to 6.0.0 , im afraid to power it off , is upgrading again to 8.1.0 again safe ?
@FedDiSte yes i updated atmosphere and it worked fine in 8.1.0 but my games didnt work , did they release the patch ? i stupidly downgraded using ChoiDujourNX to run my games again and bricked my switch , i manually downgraded to 6.0.0 to make it boot , i dont ve atmosphere yet , i can upgrade again to 8.1.0 and install atmosphere without risking another brick ?
I think you can, but is all theorical, nothing practical, if you need the cfw i would try.
Try to reinstall athmosphere (just re-download it and update the files)

I mean I could but these are freshly downloaded as they just came out. Like I said I am wondering if I bricked it by restoring my backup that was on 6.x after it updated to 8.1 ota on accident I have tried multiple versions of atmosphere and even a few others the only things that work properly are hekate and briccmii. If restoring the backup worked then in theory I am on version 6.x again but even my old working atmosphere files wont work.

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
