at last after 22 hrs of playing i found a bug, im not happy that i found
its just that... this is the only way i can help the translation team.

the bug is about the magic pot monster whenever i tried to view its
ability (pressing y at the monster) the game will freeze right on the spot.
could you upload you're savegame?
i think you're using version 0.2.4 so i'll test if it is already fixed in newest version
and if not i'll (try) to fix it =]

I have three fairly noobish questions...

1. In the editor program, does the "Fetch DB" update the editor's databases to whatever the current progress is? And...

2. Also in the editor program, all of the japanese font comes out as a bunch of squares...anyone else have this problem or a solution? And finally...

3. In the game, all of what was once japanese is now english letters...mostly in random gibberish...is this connected with the above problem?

the rule is to survive within 4 turns and the law in the quest was not to
atk anyone thats lower lv than yours. the monsters are spawning endlessly

the quest is around camoa town(i think or baptist hill).

1) yes
2) read additional requirements on the wiki
3) this is table compression in action. I replace kanjis with the most used pair of characters, this way I use only half the size.

mhh i did that quest, too. (you have to collect the fruits from the trees afaik)
and the magic(k) pot did appear... no error when i played, but i didnt looked at the unit details =/
the bug could be caused by an bugged item equipped, buggy name, buggy ability, so if you have a
savegame before that quest and you could upload it, maybe it'll help^^

Question to the team:
I would be able to translate the English texts into French and German. Would you be interested, in order to make a French and German patch? (Even though I'm pretty sure you could do it, given the locations of contributors...)
After all, if the US get that game in 6 months, we, Europeans (I would even daresay "old Europeans"...), will get it in what? One year?

As far as I know, when the editor is stable, deufeufeu will release it and the tools needed for anyone to make any translation...

I'm sorry to report another glitch...

In the shops, when you highlight the "Sell" or "Move Equipment" options, the game will crash with the music continuing to play. I don't know if anyone else has this error.

P.S. I'm using a R4 with 1.11 update.

Edit: Tested with No$gba and no crashing.

It doesn't crash on a M3 Simply. Could be a R4-specific problem.

those 2 carts are basically the same... Are you sure you are using the latest version of the patch?

edit: a .sav would be nice too

You should specify when this error occurs. Does it happen when you open patch program or does it happen when you try to load the patched one?

we can't do anything with such a vague bugreport, you have to give full traceback (log file) and describe exactly what you have done. "patch file ffta2 rom (that u release)" I don't understand.

If his problem is anything like mine, then He is using the latest binary release and for some reason, some of the files in the WX folder are not being read. The traceback log lists 4-5 files in the wx folder that are missing, however when you open the wx folder to verify the paths, all of the files are there.

i think deufeufeu uploaded a fixed version, but I dont remember 100%. Try downloading again. If that doesnt work, try the source version maybe?

whenever i try to open it with the ffta2 editor it gives me and
error, but when i open a fresh new rom everything is ok.

It's a known issue. I'm using myself a graphic patched rom rom with only minor graphic edit to the original rom. This way I have not only the text translation but a bit of the graphics. Future version will feature graphic edit, so it will be easier, but right now I've focused on making full text.
