Same thing. Not a port. And before you ask, Super Mario Maker is also not a port.

I don't know if I agree with this. Nintendo's code is always pretty efficient and then for a game to run on a different system it always needs some code optimizations. do you consider Kirby Extra Epic Yarn a remake? and why?

Well for starters. Go make a Wii emulator and see for yourself how it runs. code may be whatever. But when it comes to resources to run the game. They are both in different leagues

of course they are very different consoles but the code of the original game was always optimized to run on a Wii, a console that wasn't a powerful system to begin with. if it was efficient enough when porting the code to utilize the 3DS's resources I doubt they needed more than a little optimizing. completely rewriting a game is expensive and time consuming and the point of these ports is to make money quick, easy and inexpensively.

A port is generally a game for a different platform being made to run on another with minimal changes. If there are excessive changes, likely complete rewrites of a lot of aspects of the game plus assets being remade for the other platform for efficiency purposes, it surpasses the threshold of what I would consider a port. It's not like they just took the game source code, compiled it for 3DS, and shipped the game. Ports for other platforms are sometimes little more than that, especially those made on already multiplat engines... Minus, of course, any bug fixes in code for console quirks. In any case, and in summary, when you have to remake most of the game's content, the word remake begins to make a lot more sense. We could argue about semantics forever, but at the end of the day, the versions of those games for GC/Wii/Wii U are not the same at their core as the 3DS versions.

Even so, they're surpassing the criteria for what I would consider a port because the platform differences are so drastic it can't be anywhere near as simple as you believe.

Despite having actually digitally bought one of the games in the Atooi collection, I'll probably get the LR physical release (if I 'win' the pre-order lottery that has previously yielded a less than 10% success rate on other titles I've tried to buy from them).
I found it funny that LR will actually be physically releasing their final Vita game next year, long after the 3ds' "final" physical release.

So, I read he tweet about shakedown Hawaii being released this week,... So uh... Where is it at

he said he would try to submit it to nintendo this week... not release it. nintendo still has to do their approval and then they decide when they can release it

Silver Fall seems good game similar to Alan Wake on xbox360
