so i have a nintendo switch ive been dabbleing in homebrew for the switch but i still have not been banned and i just saw the emummc was finnaly in beta format.
i was wondering if before updating to 8.1.0 if i should make two copys of my current 8.0.1 nand thats still as clean as can be (only launched emuibo and retroarch) and i have not been currently flagged, i buy digital games of the eshop and my brother buys his games physicly and i heard 8.1.0 currently breaks atmosphere.
with my two emunand images could i have one be for online and updated firmware at 8.1.0- keeping my sysnand at 8.0.1 and my cfw nand i plan to install a lot of xci too and back up my nsps mannaly and reinsall them on the cfw nand and my nand #2 is for online gameplay (obviously keep my cfw emunand offline and i should be good>)
i am wondering if anyone think this is a good method because i want to mod my switch only to play retroarch and install my brothers cartages onto my system but i still want to play online. i already have a 200gb micro sd card but i told want to redownload my nsps in order to flash my emunand img to the sd card partition so im wondering if its worth it i know its in beta but i love playing with early build of software. how soon do you all think atmosphere 0.9.1 will be out?

Your system has already been flagged and N can ban your console whenever they feel like it. They usually do it in waves and will probably do it on the Mario Maker 2 launch day, just because. Consider each day a blessing until then because you are on borrowed time.

Using Emunand for OFW/online is pointless because that is easily detectable.

The only not-really safe configuration is 1) a fully updated Sysnand for online play with the SD card removed booted without AutoRCM (8.1 will not boot with autorcm currently) and 2) an older and/or offline only OFW that runs CFW inside of Emunand where RetroArch can run. Running CFW would require manually entering CFW each time with a jig.

Go to SX website > download their latest boot.dat > copy to the root of your SD
Download payload.bin for activating payload via your chosen tools

SX OS Bootloader Menu
> Options
> EmuNAND
> Create EmuNAND
> Hidden Partition on microSD

You will get "successfully done"
Go to Atmosphere GitHub and download the latest release 0.9.0 and extract all files/ folders to the root of your SD

Create > emummc folder on the root of the SD

Create > emummc.ini file inside of emummc folder

Copy and paste this to emummc.ini

[emummc]
emummc_enabled = 1
emummc_sector = 0x2
emummc_nintendo_path = Emutendo

A tip is to select the size of hidden partition on sysnand, the smallest size available is 5gb and select "copy emuNAND to sd card". You will get boot0,boot1,full_0 and full_1 .bin. Combine everything in cmd " copy /b boot0.bin+boot1.bin+full_0.bin+full_1.bin emummc.bin. Like that your emummc.bin is only 5gb. Use dd command to write on the second partition of your sd card.
Thanks SX for the installer :D ! Atmosphere user btw...

Well I've been using small homebrew apps for about a 6 months and nothings happens so I doubt I'm getting band unless I install a nsp or xci and go online with it, why would I update to 8.1 if it breaks emummc?

8.1.0 breaks atmosphere CFW on sysnand, but unlikely for very long. It should not break atmosphere on OFW 8.0.1 emunand.

Even if sysnand is on 8.1 OFW, it should still be possible to boot an 8.0.1 emunand, but I have not verified that configuration yet. Others have said it works fine on SX OS at least.

I'm against paying for sx os for reasons of the stolen code deal, maybe 0.9.1 may take longer to get support for 8.1 Ima stay on 8.0.1 until emummc gets 8.1 support

I don't have a PC to back up my 90gbs worth of Nintendo folders, is sx is the only loader to make your emunand.bin? And I red something about it having in folder support without partitioning but I couldn't get it to read
