Title. I downloaded it via USB helper and at first it actually worked, then I got the error message after re-launching it. I downloaded it again to no avail, still get the message.... So what's the deal? Do I have to download the files in a certain order or what?

When you installed the dlc I suppose you used mocha CFW. You need to run it every time you launch a game with fake dlc or else that will happen

While you guys are here, I'm getting an external HDD tomorrow. Is there any way to both download and install illegitimate copies games on the same HDD? If not are there alternatives?

I'm confused by your phrasing "both download and install illegitimate copies games on the same HDD"

You can download illegitimate games on your computer, then put them on your sd card and then install them to your hard drive via Wup Installer GX.

USB Helper has all Wii U games.

Nope, you need to stick with installing from SD card. Also, if you want to use homebrew or backups in vWii mode you will need to get a second external hard drive for that later.

Hard drives used for Wii U storage are formatted in a proprietary format that currently can't be shared with anything else.

Ohhhh okay, I think I understand. Would a 62 gig flash drive work for my Wii U games? Or should I avoid messing with them?

No get a real external hard drive either with a y cable or plug into wallo. Flash drives will eventually just die and you'll lose all your games and saves on them.

I have the same problem as OP. But I installed the DLC using WUP Installer Y Mod and I use the Internet Browser to open the Homebrew menu. Is there anything else I can run so my DLC isn't corrupted?

Oh. Sorry for double posting. The first time I didn't do it with an account and then I signed up to recomment because I couldn't see my OG comment. Again , I'm super sorry for double posting

@NefariousBlue The most simple way is to use Mocha or Haxchi instead of HBM (the bowser thing). HBM is designed to run homebrews only, so it doesn't include signature patches but you need these.

You can actually install Wii Injects to use them.
