Can you explain this post? I've been out of the loop for a few months and after 45 minutes of Google-Fu, I remain empty-handed (which is surprising, but fatal is a shitty name in terms of SEO...).
What are the files that are originally in atmosphere/titles/ for fatal? Where can I find them?

It's pretty old now. The fatal error logs will be in atmosphere/fatal_errors . SX has nothing to do with this for now.

The app stopped working for me a few versions ago. It would simply shut down to a black screen and not boot back up, requiring me to use the dongle and jig. Anyone still use this successfully?

It's built into SXOS now with reboot support for crashes, so you no longer need the separate .nro. It was added into SXOS 2.9.2. I could never get this app to work unless I undocked my switch as when I reboot while docked, it would always black screen and freeze. It works perfectly while undocked.

Rebooting SX OS
If you select "restart" now from the power options menu you will actually reboot into SX OS. There is no need to replug your SX Pro dongle or send a payload from your computer when doing so. Additionally, if an error occurs you can also reboot into SX OS by simply pressing the power button. Neat!

I use the reboot to payload homebrew that is bundled with atmosphere and that works fine on latest fw and SX os. Just gotta put the reboot payload with the appropriate filename into /atmosphere on your SD.
I use that to get into hekate when needed, to remove SD or to boot to another cfw. It's not needed if you just want to reboot your console into SX again
