No I do not have autoRCM and yes I have a Jig. Thats what Im saying even with the jig in place i cannot boot into RCM. The switch boots as normal.

It should pick up rcm mode if you enter it correct, along with the correct button combination along with the jig, if you are using a computer to push the payload might wanna check the cable.

Thanks for your help on this.

Ok so the cable is brand new. The hekate payload was injected no problem. I backed up the nand and once it reached 100% I noticed that my pc was showing that RCM was disconnected. So i bcaked out of hekate and them poewred off via the menu.

I tried to boot into the rcm with the jig like i did before. Multiple times. All times it boots to the normal switch menu. Holding Vol+ and inserting usb cable.

Seem like your computer doesn't see it in rcm mode state if you have the correct driver for the computer to pick it up, first you need to enter that state if you want to push a payload, usually it is cable problem, worse case you can look into getting a payload dongle like the NS Atmosphere or the RCM Loader one.

Yes but it was all working fine about 10 mins prior. The nand backup worked fine also. Its only since Ive disconnected and reconnected. Is there no other way to get back to RCM mode? The cable cant have stopped working withing 2 mins of disconnecting it. Its brand new.

If disconnect doesn't work, try restarting the computer.

Hi guys, I'm pretty new to the switch scene and I wanted to ask a few questions first before I decide to jump
in the switch hacking scene. I've read a few guides here and there but it doesn't specifically answer my questions.

1. If I hack my switch, can I still play online using legitimately bought carts? no online play forever or not going
online is only reserved for games you don't own?

1a. Can Ninty detect that I have installed CFW on my switch the moment I go online? so no more going online?

2. Atmosphere/ReiNX is installed on the actual NAND right? unlike SXOS (I've heard has EmuNAND).
This means I can't switch to and from a clean NAND vs a hacked one except on SXOS? is my understanding correct?

Thank guys, I've been off the forums for a while since losing my 3DS.

You can play online if your NAND is clean and that you setup an emunand and play your backup there, you would get ban if you ran CFW on sysnand and play online. CFW ain't stored on the system, you push a payload to activate CFW until you shut it off again or ran out of battery, if you want a clean nand use SX OS emunand, as the Atmosphere version of emunand is still experimental.

So in the case of Atmosphere/ReiNX, If I don't push the payload to activate CFW and just boot on SysNAND, I can play online using my legit carts and act as if its a clean NAND?
Thanks mate

Yes if you don't boot up Atmosphere or ReiNX you would be fine, you can make an emunand nand partition with SX OS but you need to pay for that, license cost around $30 dollars.

Jesus.. $30 for EmuNAND. What perks are there for EmuNAND? Is it worth paying for? I mean for me, it is just having a clean SysNAND + EmuNAND.
Compared to Atmosphere/ReiNX which I can still boot on SysNAND (when I want to go online) and boot CFW for playing offline.

Prior to Atmosphere emunand implementation it was the only one that offer emunand, for now the atmosphere emunand support is currently in beta/development state, as for additional feature it offer XCI support, XCI loading off usb. You would get ban if you ever boot into CFW on sysnand and go online , where you have to restore the clean nand to go back online.

Hmm, what happens if I install NSPs on my CFW and boot on SysNAND (without pushing the payload) in Atomosphere/ReiNX.
Will they still exist on my Home Menu?

Well as long as I don't boot CFW on SysNAND and go online.
Can you get banned on EmuNAND too?

If you used emunand the nand would be seperate, you wouldn't be able to launch those NSP without loading CFW. If you go online on the emunand obviously it would get ban, the intention is to use Sysnand for online and emunand for offline stuff.

Without EmuNAND though? like just installing them on CFW Atmosphere/ReiNX before and booting up without pushing the payload.
Would those installs still exist? and would it be detected on Sysnand when I go online even though I did not boot CFW?

If you installed them on system while on cfw, you won't be able to launch them. Yea you would get detected and get banned.

Hi,
I bought a used unpatched switch which I am planning to install CFW to.

The lady that sold me the switch said she had install CFW on it previously but that it would be all wiped off.

My question is- if I did a clean backup before installing atmo (incase I get a brick or if I ever want to use the emmuNAND feAture in atmosphere), would it be clean? As the previous user had installed CFW previously.

If the lady restored a clean backup before she sold it to you, your new backup should be also clean. How did she clean the switch?
