For some reason, the program is recognizing my Pro Controller as a left joy-con. What am I doing wrong? Can anyone point me to a tutorial of how to get a Pro Controller working for this program? I've done my joy-cons successfully in the past but recently got a pro controller and made it purple and I'd like that reflected on my Switch as well.

Just found a major bug that exists in this software that essentially bricks the joycons. If you restore one of the joycons SPI from a back up, then disconnect and reconnect a different joycon, you can still use the incorrect backup for the joycon. When I went to restore my right roycon no prompt came up and the left SPI was written onto it.

It is now acting as a left joycon, will not connect to the switch when attached, and will not connect via Bluetooth. This software is great and all, but this is a major bug an needs to be addressed. I am now very upset my right joycon is essentially bricked.

I expect @CTCaer can come up with a solution for you, to get it to connect and restore the correct backup.

Well you are supposed to press refresh and also change the spi backup.

Anyway you can't brick them with the toolkit in any way, even if you write zeroes to SPI.

So what you need to do is to remove both devices from Windows Settings.
Only then you will be able to re-pair it. Press SYNC for 2 sec or so and re-pair it.
Then restore the backup. Have in mind that I have done this many times, especially when I was restoring a ProCon backup to a JoyCon in order to test ProCon functions.

As a reminder, if you don't see the lights flashing when pressing and holding SYNC, it means it doesn't have power. Just connect it to Switch or the charging grip and wait.

Some info about that: windows has a bug where you can't connect a device if it has different name and same MAC with the one that is already paired.

Because this might happen again, I should address it. But I don't have time at all to channel to Joy con toolkit right now :/

Don't have your joycons connected also. There's a prio when 2 or more are connected: Left -> Right -> Procon

For some reason my joycon now always flashes blue after using this.
You can press SYNC or the disconnect button to disable it.

Only an idiot would try on shitty Chinese products
Only an idiot would call something shitty before knowing anything about it. Those are actually almost the same as the original pro controller. Only feature I'm missing is the NFC and the Wake-up with home button, but for those purposes I have an original pro.

I use the chinese controller for modding, like installing different motors and having a Pikachu/Eevee shell.

But it's a good thing that you are a judgemental asshole. Good to know.

idk why you idiot don't understand it was a question about getting the SPI and compatibility, not a request for help. But be happy and keep being an asshole, I won't stop you from doing that :)

This tool is fully compatible to where it needs to be

Not quite, there is still an issue with pro controllers that needs to be addressed, the software allows you to change the body and handle colors independently, yet on the Switch, both colors come out the same, yet we know pro controllers should be able to display with the body and handle colors as different like we see in the software and how the pro controllers appear as different colors on your Switch by default before using this software.

I'm referring to only ever going to support official Nintendo made controllers

This all due to the idiot above wanting compatability with the shitty Chinese clones

Eh, I wouldn't call him an idiot, seems like he's just toying around with the release, seeing if there might be the off chance that some off-brand controller could be compatible. I mean I wouldn't expect the compatibility at all, but if I was bored, knowing that certainly wouldn't stop me from still trying to see if there was some sort of trick to maybe making it work, even though I know full well it almost certainly can't.

Hey so I click "Body& Button Color" and an error pops up (attached). Any help would be appreciated.
-This happens with both joycons
-A SPI backup has been made for each
-When I click continue, nothing happens
