Hacking 3DS keeps freezing while acekard2i is in my 3DS.

This problem only started occurring recently, my 3DSXL original model would boot up but go to a black screen, so I tried different things like putting in the SD card after the system was turned on and I think it worked after that but froze again while playing pokemon Ultra moon.After playing with it for awhile again trying to figure out what was triggering the freezing I realized it only seems to be happening when my DS flashcard is inserted. Iv'e had this flashcard for years and never had issues with it causing my 3DS to freeze.

So the other day I inserted the flashcard after my 3DS was already on and my 3DS hung and froze, so I tried again and this time it looked like it was going to freeze again but didn't. So today I was playing animal crossing on it and put it into sleep mode and when I went to take it out of sleep mode it had the blackscreen/freezing problem again.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? I could be wrong, but it seems to have to do with my flashcard as when I boot my 3DS without it it boots fine, but if I insert it or have it in the 3DS before turning it on my 3DS will freeze?

Hmmhm. Not many ideas: Process of elimination.

Does another (2|3)DS(i) system freeze/crash when your acekard 2i is inserted/used for some time?
- ⟹ acekard 2i probably faulty. Best replacement: R4i Gold 3DS Plus.
Does your 3DS freeze/crash when another game|flashcart is inserted/used for some time?
- ⟹ Problem with the cartridge slot (?)

In doubt I would guess the flashcart kicked the bucket. Free (software) alternative for DS-games is TWiLight Menu++. This is a bit more work than using a flashcart (newer ROMs have to be patched because of anti-piracy “features”) but the compatibility has greatly improved.

Is the R4i gold plus that's linked in your post a legit site? https://nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=575 i'm just making sure as iv'e heard there's a lot of fake flashcarts.

My 3DS seems to be freezing randomly now, but only with pokemon ultra moon so far although iv'e heard that's common in older 3DS models as the CPU can't handle the game, but i'm gonna try playing without the card inserted and see if that makes a difference. Today the music just stopped in pokemon ultra moon but the animation were still going but it was softlocked..

Yes, that's a reputable website (never mind the under-the-table way to pay, someone bribed pay-not-your-pal and credit card companies to deny business to "hacking product" sellers), and in fact a partner of gbatemp

Whatever's in the slot-1 should, at least in theory, not affect digital 3DS software (without even the permission to access DS games) - but who knows the exact operating system implementation (as well as whether the flashcard has hardware faults)...

I had the same issue happening randomly with the Acekard 2i as well.

Do not know what the cause is, but think it could be with the bad contact in the card slot, that could make the DS mode of the 3DS freeze if it feels like the cart is being removed. But that is my guess

For me it freezes like this... when the card is bricked / unreadable /corrupted(In my experience) so try reading it from godmode9

I'd suggest trying the AK2i with a different MicroSD card. If that doesn't help, try changing the firmware of the AK2i - there's a thread on here somewhere that archived a lot of the different fw revisions.

The firmware I have on my acekard2i is 1.9.0 akaio

This is a contact issue with the AK2i. You can fix it with the paper trick.

i ve had this issue before, turned out to be dust accumulation in the cart slot. just blow real hard into the slot and wipe the flash-cart too just in case.

I own this cart. Shit moved real fast back then, but this is almost undoubtedly your problem. I had a similar issue with R4i gold on 3ds and cleaning fixed it, you gotta ad that paper though.

I put a piece of paper under the contacts, the card seems pretty bent/dropping downwards in the middle although that may have been when I was trying to pry the contact from the plastic shell to slip the paper underneath. But I might just get an R4 gold from the link provided, anyone know the difference between the R4 and acekard?

Hi could someone help me I think my card is having issues again, so I wanted to just buy this: https://nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=575 but one of you here said you can't pay in a typical way so I went to e-mail the site but everytime I try it says to copy the captcha in the captcha box...iv'e tried multiple times and put down the right captcha, it's really annoying. I just want to know how exactly i'm suppose to pay as someone here said you can't pay normally for how you usually would for something online.
