You can and the theme will persist till a reboot, the theme installer has an uninstall theme feature. One more question... if I install a Theme and activate it, can I remove it with the console switched on (and using the theme I want to delete), or do I need to switch it off first?
I actually just want to know if I can remove the 0100000000001000 folder, before updating my system, without needing to eject my SD card. I'd like to it through FTPD.
Maybe it's a silly question, because I assume that if you're using the theme, you might not be able to remove it without leaving cfw.

Still after removing a theme it's better to reboot cause it could cause instability: haven't really tested this scenario but like if you have a theme and install another one if you go to the lockscreen without rebooting sometimes you could see the new theme you installed overlapping the old one and it crashes after a bit so i'd say it's better to reboot
It depends. There are themes that are not working in 8.x as they must be updated. Once their template is updated, you can install the theme againAbout nxtheme file format, since it is firmware-independent, will it still cause the crashes issues on boot when you update your firmware?
Download latest version of the installer, delete the themes folder and launch it, it should extract the home menu automatically. Keys are not needed anymore.Hey I keep getting the Residentmenu.szs not fount in lyt dir error, I've been trying to fix this for ages now . I've dumped my tsec and fuse info using Hekate ctcaer 4.10, I used lockpick to dump other keys too (my switch is on 3.0 and I'm also using Atmosphere on 8.10 through Kosmos V12) when they didn't work I tired getting the keys online and using those and it still wouldn't work. after cleaning up all the files on my SD card and putting a new download of the SD files to update my CFW I have gained another error as well simply stating that "everything closed !" on top of the original residentmenu one
Are you using latest version of the installer 1.5 ? Which firmware and cfw are you running ? Do you use a mac ? Fat32 or exfat sd ?okay, I just gave it a shot and it still didn't work, had a look in the system data folder and i still have nothing in it even after deleting the themes folder, I also deleted the key files since I didn't need them anymore
Mh.... everything seems fine, at this point i'm not sure 3.0 is supported tbh, earliest fw i tried is 5.0, some people made it work on 4 but had crashes with certain themes, i'm afraid you'll need to wait for emunand to come out.NXthemes version 1.5, switch is on 3.0 running atmosphere 8.10 through AtlasNX/Kosmos v12.2, I use windows PC and sd card is exfat. Shall I try with my SD formatted as Fat32?
Edit: just tried with a Fat32 and still wouldn't dump any files not sure what I can do at this point
Latest installer version is 1.6.1 also write the full error messagei don't get why, but the new nxtheme format doesn't work for me. i can't install anything. on the latest 1.5 installer it just says that it can't install and maybe it's corrupted.
But i can still install using the old .szs method. But i would like to use the new format. I'm following the very simple guide on the front page. i mean it's not like there's much to it.
Even on default settings it still won't install.
1. boot up switchthemeinjector 4.1
2. Put in new image. made sure its 1280x720.
3. Build nxtheme
4.go to my homebrew
5. Tell NXtheme installer 1.5 i'm on ReiNX
6. Try to install NXtheme, get error.
7. Install literally the exact same file except in szs format and that works instead.
I don't get it. Tried downloading a few themes from the reddit and none of them work. I can still make my own backgrounds at least using szs files i guess.
