Baldur’s Gate 3 announced

After a bit of teasing, Larian Studios has revealed that they’re working on Baldur’s Gate 3, a new entry in one of the most renown role-playing game series. Larian will be working side by side with the team behind Dungeons & Dragons over at Wizards of the Coast, to create a game that “pushes the boundaries of the RPG genre”. You’ll be able to play single player, or experience the full campaign via co-op. Currently, Baldur’s Gate 3 has been announced for PC (Steam, GOG, Epic) and as a title for Google Stadia.

Considering that the single player mode will be available and that online play isn't mandatory I might give this one a try when it releases.
Heard good and positive feedback on the series. I hope it's as good as they claim it to be.

Yay Baldur's Gate!
How I've been waiting for this! and it's a big plus that Larian is making it!

Also when they're saying "PC" then I hope they're meaning that they are going to sell/release it on sensible stores and not Epic.
if it becomes Epic Exclusive then the internet will fucking implode.

Aaww heck yeah! These games are fun :D exciting to see how they solve gameplay,
Especially in Co-op... The first two games were often (player) paused during battles to deal with strategy.

Platforms confirmed as of right now are just PC and Stadia, right?

Steam and GOG are confirmed atm (PC)

Console versions will most likely release after the main release, just like their previous games.
Larian is the publisher after all, so they are the ones who decide

Damn... everybody will be a trans dark elf and the plot will be about opression by human elites if they employ that writer again, the very one who called Jaheira, one of the strongest female leads in the history of RPGs, a "nagging wife". Hopefully they respect this legacy, but I doubt it.

Edit: wait this is not Beamdog at all? Amazing!

That's freaking amazing!

I hope they use the 5e ruleset.

Being it designed for stadia too, seems it will have controller support too.

Would have been interested in trying out the game for sure on Stadia, at least, since I don't have any interest at the moment in building a PC or even upgrading my old laptop. However, Stadia isn't releasing in my country in 2019, so whatever, Google. By 2020, maybe xCloud will already be out, and next-gen alongside it. Welp, just gonna wait for the console version, whenever that is.

Huh, that was unexpected. Hope they don't make it like Diablo 3, forcing always-online bullshit.

This is by the same guys who did Divinity Original Sin. I don't normally get excited for games, but they've shown they know how to not screw it up. The games were amazing in their own right, and pretty well written too. If Wizards could have had anyone in the modern age do this game properly, it would be these guys, or Obsidian. The two companies revived the CRPG through kickstarter. Unfortunately Obsidian has recently been shown to be... less than amazing in their recent activities.

If you guys enjoyed any of the old infinity engine games and haven't played Divinity Original Sin yet, you're missing out. They're even better in co-op, so if you have a friend or partner, dragging them into the game is going to be a fun time.

I've been waiting for a sequel for almost 2 decades now. I really hope it keeps the same atmosphere and depth as the original games; if not, like BG Alliance, I'll pretend it never happened.
