Pokemon Direct June 5, 2019 - Roundup

As excitement continues to build for this year's new Pokemon mainline entries, Nintendo will be giving us a 15-minute Pokemon Direct to give us some new information, prior to E3. Watch it as it airs live, or check back for the roundup of all the biggest reveals.

We get to see footage of multiple characters fighting a huge oversized Gyarados.
Giant Pokemon are a thing. Giant digital Pokeballs can catch the huge Pokemon.
There's some sort of soccer/football-looking stadium where the giant Pokemon fight.
New never-before-seen Pokemon.

New and old Pokemon will be available.
There is place called Wild Area, which have wild Pokemon that change each day or by the weather and time of day.
You can control the camera in this game.
DynaMaxing is the gimmick for this region, which make your Pokemon turn into a massive size.
Attacks also turn into Max Moves.
Can be used once per battle, and will revert back to normal after three turns.
You can connect to other players.
Four trainers can join to play in Max Raid Battles where you fight tough dynamax Pokemon together.

Leon is the undefeated champion of the Gala region. He has a Charizard and is beloved by the people.
His younger brother, Hop, is your rival.
Magnolia is the Professor who you get your Pokemon from.
Gym leaders will use dynamax Pokemon.
Milo is a grass type gym leader.

Zamazenta and Zacian are the main legendaries.

The games launch globally on November 15. A dual pack will also be offered, with a steelcase and both games.

Defeating giant Pokémon are the only way to unlock thier normal size counter parts in the wild?, that’s not going to go well. Without proper communication, raid battles with random are going to suck. I bet only the player who giant sized thier Pokémon can catch the Pokémon in raid battles. Or the trainer who did the most damage or used the best poke ball. Incase of a tie of those two stats, the person who through thier ball first...People are going to lag switch thier systems to cheat and constantly steal the capture!!!

don't forget the switch mobile app, it includes voice chat right?

How does it work in Pokemon Go? Doesn't everyone get a Pokemon during a raid?

No idea. Never been in a raid or gym battle in go. Unsafe to walk in Allentown to places. Too may murders.

EDIT: Repost what I said on YouTube:

Saw something yesterday about gyms possibly having teams. Each team having a team shirt. Maybe the gyms will work like the old Pokémon stadium games. Defeat several random trainers first, then your rival(s). Fallowed by the gym leader’s assistant(s) and than the gym leader. It explains the gym leaders shirt and other logo shirts in old trailer.

Hey, as long as it doesn't make you walk f*****g 15 god damned miles to get a Pikachu, I'm fine with it.

I like playing video games while my fat ass is sitting down and eating popcorn.

Dynamaxing Pokemon's is very unimaginative. It's always the same, they try to add something new to the games and in the end it looks quite ugly.

I'm looking for the "freedom" aspect of the game. The free control of the camera will add some more gameplay content for sure.

Wonder how much time will take to serebii to finish the complete items and pokemons locations :)

They have released additional details to the official Pokémon website. For instants, we are getting a rotom phone. It contains the Pokédex and other features. For example, Rotom can be used to boost the speed of our bikes. I am going to assume it is used to call the pokemon taxi’s for the fast travel and other travel services. Like a pokemon to take you across large bodies of water, taking trainers to ports. Probably has the poke box app and the map.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Okay the website says the weather changes in each wild area everyday. Thus changing both wild pokemon and dynamax pokemon. So the games uses the Nintendo switch’s clock.

Also says when online trainers are not available to play the raids, we will be automatically paired with NPCs. The way things are worded, I wonder if online play for raids is locked to randoms.

I can already see that we can only see wild pokemon in this " wild area. all others will have the normal bushes ... man.. and the camera control should have been in all the game.. missed opportunity.
And i still think this is less than mario or zelda in graphics deparment.

i believe the wild areas are the new "routes" . I mean, the guy said they connect towns in the overworld.

As someone who has played one Pokemon game and never got into the series, this piques my interest. The free camera and non-random Pokemon fix my biggest issues with Pokemon as a whole. I may actually bite the bullet on this one.

wild area is the middle of the zone in the middle of the map.

As for pokemon visible on the world it appears that its all region and not only the wild zone as in the website it says..
"In tall grass or caves, wild Pokémon can jump out at you. Battles with wild Pokémon will occur when you run into Pokémon that you can see wandering around. Some Pokémon will pursue you once they see you, while others will run away."
