@HannesB
Mmmhm. You said you’re new to console modding. Okay. A little more systematically.
This is nothing you can (or should) rush. It takes time reading all these guides and tutorials and getting familiar with all the terms.
Although (in my opinion) not as good as 3ds.hacks.guide, Read the https://dsi.cfw.guide/ to get a better understanding of all this.
We need to know in what state your DSi and SD are at the moment. I did not get everything by reading across the latest posts. "nds-bootstrap not found" sounds like you did not merge the "TWiLigthMenu.7z:/_nds" folder with "TWiLigthMenu.7z:/DSi&3DS - SD card users/_nds" (the later folder contains nds-bootstrap) on your SD.
Good luck.

- Have you installed unlaunch?
- Make a NAND backup. Seriously!
- Although you can’t easily (and shouldn’t) restore the NAND in software with the current tools, a backup is needed for HiyaCFW helper. This nice program will setup HiyaCFW and TWiLight Menu++ for you.
- A NAND backup is the only possibility to restore the DSi (by hardmod/micro-soldering) in case something goes terribly wrong. I know… DSi consoles are cheap right now, but it is a waste to lose one.
- For manually setting up TWiLight Menu++, refer to the official thread. (Click on the tab “Set-up (DSi users with Unlaunch and/or HiyaCFW)
Good luck.
