Update 2.3:
- Updated to Kernel 1.06, FW 7.
- Improved Chip-8 Emulation
- Improved Arcadia 2001 Emulation
Very nice! Great work

May I recommend adding the "important text" file to the readme within your Gitlab alongside your build instructions?

I would also like to suggest including this zip file within the release section of the Gitlab as well!

Is there any way to save game in NGPAdvance?

I was trying to play Evolution Eternal Dungeons and Picture Puzzle and it does not really save to SD card. (A 64KB romname.esv file is initially created in /SAVER, but I don't think it ever gets updated.) I tried exiting to the menu by holding L and R. There's something about Save SRAM/SRAM management, but it doesn't work?

It's really a nice work. I'm just wondering that does it improve the battery issue of the original firmware?

No. The battery life of the EZ Omega comes down to two major things: one the PSRAM constantly draws power to run (no idea how much NOR mode can change this) and two there's an FPGA constantly running to monitor for save changes to write to the microSD. The former, that's a hardware thing. The latter, that's locked up in the firmware which is closed source: it's the newomega_top.bin binary blob.

I've no idea how more efficient the EZ Omega can reasonably be made. However, it's unlikely that anyone but EZ Flash Team can really make improvements there. As totally a guess, I just don't think there's much improvement that can be reached. I would say, unless you hear a specifically announcement that's supposed to improve battery life, don't expect anything.

Very thankful for all your work, specially for SYSTEM folder, it's nice. I don't tried to use emulators, but all the rest works fine.

I know it has been almost a year but I tried your custom kernel but I am having issue with Cheat.
I followed the steps and made sure the CHEAT folder is inside the SYSTEM folder.
The Soon as I launch the game then select Cheat from menu, it doesn't show the cheat at all but just moved to select Launch with add on and 0 cheat.

Is there a way to get this done?

Sounds like your cheat file is the problem. That's what happens when it cannot read the file. So it's either corrupt or in the wrong format

Yeah, cheats for me work just fine.
Make sure you use the official cheats pack from EZ-Flash themselves.

But if I use the original firmware, cheats seems working.

Can you share, how do your cheat file looks like?

The Cheat file I am using was from the EZ Flash Cheat library.

but that game barely runs at native 4k

I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports

they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding

AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that

least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling

They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great

so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously

Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting

Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?

i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling

even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling

LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol

They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways
