For $600 for the full sized one you're better off building one yourself, way too expensive for what is going to inevitably be shit emulation.

And if you're too shit at construction DIY to build one yourself, you could always go for one of these: https://arcade1up.com/ < and use an Atomic Pi <

Upgrade to something using an ODroid XU4 and you can play Dreamcast/NAOMI/Atomiswave. Sure, it's not flawless emulation with a stable framerate, but for a small PC of that size, I know I'm impressed!

You lost me at "ATGames". Full sized or not, what are the chances this thing won't be a tremendous PoS with crap emulation? They don't exactly have the best track record.

Nice write up... This thing actually looks really cool but... ATGames... What a damn shame lol the price actually isn't too absurd, assuming everything they claim works well... but I'll stick to my Galaga cabinet, where I'll always have the high score.

i've built my own pinball machine it started out running vp8 now it runs vpx upgraded from a 3 screen to a 2 screen and pin2dmd (REAL dmd not a screen) and even a pinscape plunger. it's really difficult making a pinball machine because you have to do all the wiring, lights, buttons, setup multiple screens and setup the software to work with the hardware. but if i can do it than it should be PISS easy making a mame cabinet that only has 1 screen. don't waste your $ on this garbage just build your own.

Explain how

Are you shitting me? You've never seen their Genesis clone consoles, how they can't even get the sound right, screen tearing, frameskipping?

How have you not realized this? AtGames has been making shitty product after product for a decade, and you never even seen how bad they are?
It's so bad Sega fired them and hired M2 to work on the Genesis Mini, that's how bad they are. M2 is the company who actually knows how to write emulators.

ATGames... Who cares?

If its using a generic SoC, replace their motherboard with a pi.

I`m interested in the fit and finish of the cabinet. What is the veneer quality like? Edging? Joints? Is it retail-friendly (aka tough enough to withstand pint pots being spilt on it)

The electronics... Who gives a f**k? Plenty of alternatives... Now, if the cabinet is SUPERB quality, it COULD and I mean that at a stretch, COULD be worth a look.

But yeah... ATGames... The "US Gold" (think of Amiga days) of the retro-gaming world.

Atgames making an arcade cabinet?
These things are starting to get popular I guess but most of them are made poorly.
If the wood is good it might be good for gutting and replacing parts but I'd rather just have a kit to plug in a gaming rig into and just have a good sturdy screen and arcade stick setup.
Hopefully these will end up cheap second hand.
