Wrong folder. I just extracted baseq2 insides and it should have been folder inside quake2 folder. For some reason i can only pass one level on this port and than it shows "The end", and saves it on victory.pcx. Change level commands not working as well
I used the baseq2 from the Steam version and it worked fine, I assume they would be the same version of the game.Mine was working fine until I copied in the baseq2 folder. Now I'm getting an ARM11 exception. Could it be because I copied baseq2 from the quad damage quake II 4 pack from GoG? Or I need to copy from an older revision of Q2?
Is there a certain order you have to go in? Like install CIA then copy the folder, or visa versa?I used the baseq2 from the Steam version and it worked fine, I assume they would be the same version of the game.
I have had issues with it wiping my baseq2 folder out, try recopying the folder to your sd cardIs there a certain order you have to go in? Like install CIA then copy the folder, or visa versa?
THANK YOU! That got it! My grandchildren will sing songs about you!I have had issues with it wiping my baseq2 folder out, try recopying the folder to your sd card
I also have the issue of losing all my weapons after loading a save. Its really weirdHas anyone experienced this one yet? I loaded up my save and all my weapons were gone. I'm a good way into the game so finding them again is questionable. I pull up the console to add my weapons back but how do I get the keyboard? I swear I saw a keyboard pop up when I was first messing around but now I can't get it.
Edit: I figured out the keyboard thing and I feel pretty dumb right now, but still not sure why I lost my weapons.
Let me elaborate a bit more.
I've succesfully build (.3dsx AND .cia):
expect them soonTM
Capture the Flag
Catch the Chicken
Xatrix
DDay - with bots YES! (still need to fix default bindings)
I still have to create some nifty artwork to go with this.. but in the meantime you could play with this:
Quake II Mission Pack: The Reckoning (aka xatrix)
Copy these files, together with your full xatrix folder to 'sd:\3ds\quake2\'
Run it through your homebrew launcher.
Thanks so much for these!! Will the D-Day bots one be coming soon please? (or perhaps one for Gladiator bot?)
Thanks again
To be honest, i havn't looked into this for a while now.
While I do have the game running, there's still a lot of issues.
All bindings are ok, the first match, but as soon as a second game is loaded it defaults to the regular quake2 settings.
Looking back, this is probably solved by keeping this build completly seperate from the Quake2CTR builds. And only use the custom 'baseq2' folder included with the DDay build. (seems logical.. now i think about it, sorry)
The DDay files needed are over 500mb, containing a lot of small files, and i prefer to have them included in the ROMFS. But this way i can't change nothing on the fly without recompiling, so i won't compile it like that unless i'm satisfied.
As for the bots, the ones included are specificaly set-up for the dday builds, with specific routing for each map.
Unfortunatly, i can't find any other opensource bot code available. If you find any, let me know.
I can't say when, but i'll definitly get back to this.. (probably after i've finished Half Life.. oh boy!)
@MasterFeizz Where's that donation button?? i'd love to buy you a coffee, or two.
I don't have a donate button setup, I'll probably update my website and accept donation through there as I have a few releases coming up pretty soon.
Edit: @MrHuu are you also working on a Half-Life port?
Oh no, i meant playing Half Life. I wish i had such skillset..
All i know about coding, ive learned from studying mostly your's and nop90's code.
All props goes to you sir!
Edit: btw.. did you already try to run blue shift or opposing force?

I need to dust up my laptop, but from what I remember I only needed to fix a couple of bugs and it should be ready for release.sorry for the necropost, but are there any updates on the hardware rendering for this? ik it isn't number 1 priority atm, but it would be nice to know how its doing, as well as one day see colored lighting on my 3ds
